Smile The Wonder Years Lost Episode Info

Their was an episode that was never filmed, aired or put out. Somebody a few years back bought a script from a supposed lost episode. I found 2 lost episodes on a TWY website "The Big Spin" and "It's Only Rock and Roll." It seems like they would of aired in the Second Season, at least The Big Spin would of. Here's the plot somebody summarized from the script. It's a long read.

"Basically, this episode is taking place, I'm guessing early on in the second season, when Kevin is still in 7th grade. (The title page mentions that this first draft was written July 10th 1988) It starts out at school, and Kevin really wants to talk to this girl, Laura Aznavour. Paul encourages him, so he goes over and talks. Kev asks if she wants to do anything this weekend and she says shes going to 2 parties. After hearing that, Kevin and Paul decide to throw their own party the following weekend. Kevin is really nervous about asking his parents, because of what happened at Karens party, last year (this is mentioned many times throughout the episode- "Rememeber what happened at Karen's Party?") The narrator states that 2 cops came and their was a riot, so his parents are very leary about having a party there again. Norma thinks it is a good idea, and after many struggles, convinces Jack to let Kevin have the party. Norma trys to help Kevin out, but brings home clown cre paper and Gumby Cups. When Karen sees this, she helps Kevin out and redecorates over Norma's things, but hanging beads and Beatles posters all over. The party is ready, but nobody shows, up and just when Kev and Paul are thinking that nobody is going to show, all the geusts arrive (like an hour late). Laura comes, and so does the girl Paul likes (Linda Chesterfield), Winnie is there also. The party goes good, and then one of the geusts suggests that they play Spin The Bottle (hence the episode title, "The Big Spin"). Kevin takes the first spin and he has to kiss Linda Chesterfield. A bunch of people spin and then when Kevin goes again, he gets Laura. They have a long kiss, and everybody "hoots and hollers". But, when Laura spins, she kisses another boy for a much longer time, and Kev gets upset. Kevin then realizes that Laura really didnt like him, she just likes guys in general. Then, Kevin goes off an plays flip-flop hockey with Winnie... thats how it ends.

Commentary On The Episode- So, I mean, I guess I can see why they never filmed this episode, because it definitely could have been more interesting... but there was some funny narration and some typical Wayne gags. Also... an interestingtidbit: Kevin's middle name is revealed in this lost episode... when Kevin is dancing with Laura at his party, he turns the music up, and Jack gets mad and yells from upstairs... "Kevin Bartholomew Arnold... turn that damn music down right now."

@ Jack, interesting read and to hear that Bartholomew is Kevin's middle name, kinda odd...Thoughts on this?

I'm thinking about writing scripts if I were to be a writer for TWY when it was still around, but this is an actual plot from the lost episode(s).

I think I read circa 2004 that there was an episode that was never aired in which we found out Kevin had the middle name Bartholomew. I remembered it because it's the same name as Bartholomew County, Indiana (home of Columbus, south of Indianapolis).

Oh, wait, I found it in the Sitcoms Online archives! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...7&postcount=40

That's the episode I'm talking about above lol- as far as revealing Kevin's middle name, unless you are talking about another, separate episode from what I'm talking about? Ok thanks for the link. Did you read any of the summary above?

The link I provided in the above link, http://home.datacomm.ch/mpuppis/merc.../scripts.shtml, while originally revealing Kevin's middle name, apparently has expired. That is probably due to the fact I mentioned it in 2003. While the link goes to a fan page for The Wonder Years now (as if the original page moved and the server recognizes the fact) I could not find the subpage containing Kevin's middle name. I did a Yahoo! search using the words "Kevin Bartholomew Arnold" that took me back to the Datacomm.ch page above, and a Google search yielded this thread!
