I remember learning in a documentary on "Three's Company" (or was it on one of the "Three's Company" DVD "Extras?") that during the scene when Lana approached Jack after he went skinny dipping (who covered himself up with tree branches after Larry stole his clothes) her line in the script was not: "Hey Tarzan, can I swing on your tree?" The ABC censors objected to her original line, and the writers had to change it.
Can anybody remember what Lana was supposed to say originally? Thanks! Cheers! Sincerely, Steve B.

She was supposed to say:
"Hey Tarzan, may I swing on your vine?" It's amazing the censorship 30 years ago compared to now. |

I recently started a thread called "Recycled Plots". So far, it has four responses. Well, I guess you could say that in the last season there was an episode that was sort of like a recycled version of this one. Both episodes started with Larry's boss having a cabin in the woods that he lets Larry use during a weekend. In both cases Jack reluctantly goes to the woods with Larry. However, the circumstances in which Jack gives in to a weekend in the woods are entirely different. However, once they get to the woods it is typical and highly predictable slapstick. Jack having allergies, constant mesquetoe bites, falling into the lake ect. I guess you could say that in both episodes, they took the run of the mill slapstick that we are used to seeing in Los Angleas and transporting it to a wooded area. In other words, the woods was simply a stage for the type of routine that we were used to seeing week after week!
