I know him from the 1980's drama, "Crime Story" But younger people might know him from "Law and Order" I know one thing, he is no Robert Stack, and doesn't have the voice for this series. They need to go with someone else.

The decision has been made, and they will not be replacing him. Quit your gripin', won't do you any good.

Don't worry, I won't be watching it with him. Unsloved Mysteries is nothing without Robert Stack. RIP

Well, people can complain all they wish, even though it rarely (if ever) has any effect in a situation like this. Of course, Robert Stack is deceased, and nothing said or done is going to bring him back.

The more I read the posts that are critical of Dennis Farina, the more convinced I am that it is really more about his performance than Farina himself. I believe that Dennis Farina has the potential to be an effective host. He just needs to make some improvements, including changing his narrative interpretation so that his voice will hopefully fit better into the show.

They don't understand that these episodes have already been taped, though, so Dennis Farina CAN'T make improvements. They are taped. Spike only ordered a certain number of episodes. And if you don't watch, you give Spike no reason to order more episodes so Farina can 'improve' to your liking.

The way the show is currently, so many aspects have changed for the worse that I'm only just barely still interested in watching; and based on the comments I have read, I suspect the same goes for many of the other diehard U.M. fans here. What beguiled us throughout the run of the show is now largely gone.

You can admonish the naysayers all you want, as you seem to be fond of doing here and in other threads, but if the purpose of a TV show, from a broadcaster's perspective, is to get as many eyeballs tuning in as possible, then Spike is shooting itself in the foot. This "batch of episodes" ordered by Spike will be the first and probably the last. Maybe the superficiality and machine-gun editing of the new show will eventually lure the Britney Spears generation, but I doubt they'll be able to relate to the sight of women with poofy hair and neon-colored clothes and men with mullets driving Trans Ams.

Not to mention the overall creepiness found in abundance in the 'older' episodes. Today's young audience is way too jaded for that. Now it seems to be more about flashy entertainment than about being a more serious and pensive show that, in its earlier rendition, made people think when they watch.

I like the new unsolved. I only hope Spike will keep it going. With all of our griping though I'm sure they'll pull it eventually. My moto is better this unsolved mysteries than no unsolved. And I'm enjoying the updates to a lot of cases I didn't know were solved and I've already seen some cases that I didn't know existed they never aired them on lifetime.

That's right. There's no time or patience these days for the gradual accumulation of a mood or feeling, something U.M. did so well in the old days.

Yeah, well, apparently they heard the complaints and they'll be cancelling it, as it's not on for the next two weeks. So say goodbye to UM...unless you want to fork up money to Crystaldawn for episodes..
