#16-Our Dear Beagle

Jack: [angry]Janet!!! Larry!! Terri!! Chrissy!!! You won't believe what just happened!

Janet: Whats wrong?

Jack: We are gonna lose the Beagle!!!

Chrissy: Hey we have a dog? I never noticed! Did you guys buy one behind my back?

Terri: Nooooooooo!!!

Larry: Chrissy i think Jack is talking about the REGAL Beagle.

Chrissy: Oh. Go on then.

Jack: Anyway, i went down there to get a drink when Mike told me the awful news. They are gonna tear it down and put in a new parking lot!

Terri: That's awful!!!

Larry: We can't let them do that!

Janet: Yeah we love the Regal Beagle!! Lets protest!

Chrissy: All in favor, say I!

All: I!!!!!

Jack: Lets go down and tell Mike now!

Scene 2-Regal Beagle

Larry: Hey Mike whats new?

Mike: [depressed]As if you don't know.

Chrissy: Oh don't worry Mike we're gonna save the Regal Beagle!

Janet: This has been like my second home all these years!

Terri: There is no way they can tear it down!

Jack: And that's why we're gonna save our dear Beagle!!!

Mike: Oh thanks guys I really appreciate it! Except...

Jack: Except what?

Mike: They are tearing it down tomorrow!!!

All: WHAT?!?!?!?

Larry: Well that still doesn't stop us!

Jack: All for one and one for all!!!

Scene-Apartment

[Jack, Janet, Terri, Larry, and Richie are making "Save the Beagle" signs]

Terri: How does mine sound, "You take the Beagle, you take us too!"

Jack: Thats good thats good! How about mine,"Where it goes, we go!"

Larry: Yeah yeah I like it!

Chrissy: How do you like mine, "Save the Regal Beagle." [audience laughs]

Janet: Very....original Chrissy.

Chrissy: Hey Richie, what kind of sign are you making?

Richie: My sign has balloons!!!

Janet: Not to be mean or anything hun, but WHY?

Richie: Because I like balloons i like balloons!

Janet: Oh. Thats nice. How do you like mine, "The BEAGLE is very important to us. Like a puppy, we love and care about it."

Jack: I like it! We'll knock em dead tomorrow!

Scene-The next day at the Regal Beagle

Crowd: No Beagle no peace no beagle no peace!!!

Jack: You are NOT tearing this building down!

Construction Worker: Oh yeah and WHO is gonna stop me?

Jack, Janet, Chrissy, Terri, Larry: We are!!!

Richie: And me too!

Construction Worker: Oh yeah! Well WHY shouldn't i tear it down?

Chrissy: Listen here mister! This is important to us!

Terri: Its where we go to have fun!

Larry: Relax!

Construction Worker: Move out of the way! This buildings gonna be gone really soon!

Janet: Waaiiiiiittttttt!

Construction Worker: WHAT NOW???!?!?!?

Janet: This building has a very sentimental value to me. One of the happiest things in my life happened here.

Construction Worker: And what would that be lady?

Janet: This is where...wanna tell him Jack?

Jack: This building is where i proposed to her. And we have lots of memories here. We would often come here to talk and just relax. But most of all, I proposed to Janet, the love of my life, right in this building.

Richie: Hey mister. Don't break the building pleeeeaassseeee. My mommy, daddy, Uncle Jack, Auntie Janet, and Chrissy really want to keep it.

Construction Worker: Alright whatever! I won't tear it down. But one of these days, you'll realize that a parking lot would be a lot better then this dumb old pub!

Larry: Umm let me think.....NO!

Construction Worker: Huh?

Larry: You heard me! The Regal Beagle is 1000 times better then a parking lot any day!

Construction Worker: Whatever. I really don't care. See you in the funny papers folks!

Chrissy: No we won't be on the funny papers! We'll be on the front cover!

Terri: You tell him Chrissy!

Construction Worker: I'm leaving!!!

Jack: Y'all come back now ya hear! [all laugh]

Larry: We did it!!!

Terri: This just shows what TEAM WORK can accomplish!

Janet: Group hug!!!!!! [they all hug]
