Meaning that when your local team doesn't sell enough tickets for the game to be televised on your local Fox or CBS station. I found out that the people who live in detroit has not seen the lions play that much this year because the home games are always blacked out so during that time they can;t watch any football game.
I know in the 80's here in philly, when the Eagles were bad and was blacked out, we got to see another NFL game instead but they are saying when the Lions are blacked out they see No football at all. So just wondering has that been the case with anyone on here? |

Yeah, the Bills went through it quite often in the 2000's. I know in 06, they had trouble selling out almost half of their home games. I know when the stadium seated 80,000, the franchise thought that was too big for a small market team that didn't sell out regularly. So they reduced it to 73,000. (like that would've helped) But they have been selling out in 07 and 08.

I don't remember the Eagles in my time that I've watched them EVER blacking out. Probably because they've been so good since 2000.

Yes. Chargers did get blacked out... I don't remember if it was after 2000 though, I would think so but then we got Marty and the team did good some years.
But then we have corporations and casinos that usually buy up the rest of the tickets if there are some left which usually are. The whole thing will be moot when the Bolts bolt town!!
