Knowing more about something than you ever thought you did - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Has anyone here ever found out that they knew alot more about a certain subject than they ever imagined they did?? This has happened to me a few times, most recently last night. My roomate started talking about MMA fighting, and how much they disliked it. They started spouting out all this misinformation, and since I've been following the sport since 1994, I was able to correct her on everything, giving info that I didn't even realize I knew. I was spouting off fight results from 10 years ago, average fighters fight records, what rounds certain fighters got knocked out in, you name it, I knew it. Afterwards I just laughed, because I realized that half the stuff I mentioned, I had never really even thought about before, and didn't even realize I had retained.

Another time this happened was when I was given the nickname DJ Brad. I was in a group of about 6 people, and we were playing a game of guess the artist and song while listening to the radio. As soon as a song would start, everyone would look at me, because I had gotten around 15 in a row. lol! From that day forward, my nickname became DJ Brad. I always thought I was a casual music fan, but I learned that day that I knew alot more than I ever gave myself credit for.

Anyway, have any of you ever had this happened to you, where you surprised yourself in knowing alot more about a subject than you thought you did?

This happens to me when my mother asks me about a piece of contemperary music from 1960 onward. I can usually peg the artist and song and on a good day I can include the year and album title. I'm the same way with information about the animation industry and buisness stats about television networks, local network afiliates and radio stations (who owns the station/network and how it was bought in a merger, ect). I should really go into some media career seeing as I know so much about computers, music, animation and television.
