Default Anybody Here Still Buy CD's?

In the new day and age of easy downloading nobody buys cd's anymore like they used to.

For me, I still buy the albums of the bands I like; most recent album I bought was Black Ice.

I bought Metallica's, Megadeth's, Ozzy's, Manson's, King Diamond's, Nightwish's, Rob Zombie's most recent work.

Do you buy cd's still?

I don't care for CD's anymore, they skip and take up too much space, but admittedly, I do buy new stuff I like on vinyl if it's made available in that format. I have the new Killers album reserved on wax at an indie shop here when it comes out. Vinyl has been proven to last for 50+ years if kept in good condition, and you can buy old stuff from the 70's and 80's (and I love a lot of old music, so it works in my favor) for under $1 at the right used stores, so it's cheaper to build a good collection as well.

For my 21st birthday a friend bought me KISS' ALIVE! on vinyl.

CD's???????????

What about us vinyl purists??????????????????

I always buy records first. Only buy something on CD if it wasnt done on vinyl.

Not that I am against it, but I have yet to download a song, its too easy. I'm from the old school where we had to search for our music the old fashioned way.

I still buy CDs. The packaging has gotten a lot cooler. For example, I downloaded (paid 7 pounds, that is) for Radiohead's In Rainbows. I also bought the CD at Borders and it was much more satisfying to have the physical copy in my hand. It was all really well done.

I still buy CDs, but not as much anymore as in previous years. I'm a church intern, and and as such, make no money. I do manage to get releases I'm really looking forward to, like this year's 30th Anniversary Editions of Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue and Billy Joel's The Stranger.

at this point in time, if it's not available on vinyl (as a lot of stuff is getting released on wax anyways now), it's not worth buying

I still buy CDs but I haven't been much lately because they seem way too expensive at the moment. I still buy them used when I see a good selection at Goodwill or at the independent music shop.

Lately I've been downloading but I vowed to myself that when I get a job or when the recession is over I'll buy myself the ones that I actually liked.
I've also become addicted to those free hip-hop mixtapes. I have a new obsession with DatPiff and LiveMixTapes. Then again the material on mixtapes are usually better than the stuff the artist releases commercially anyway.

I do have a strict rule about anything Robert Palmer related. Unless it's a hard-to-find concert or rarity, because I'm a collector I WILL buy the CD if it's available at Amazon. I refuse to download any of his albums because I want to own physical copies (Which I sometimes end up with more than one copy of in different formats!). I still don't have Sneaking Sally Through The Alley, Some People Can Do What They Like, Double Fun and Drive.

Ditto. I'm the same way. That's where vinyl gets interesting b/c sometimes it has different cover art (which is awesome) or the record itself is colored (even more awesome).

i only buy CDs of people i'm a fan of and who i want to support. otherwise i just buy songs i like on iTunes. no use spending $12 on an album for one song when you just get that song for 99 cents

i really should buy Rihanna's CD though considering i have like half of the songs iTunes-LOL

I buy them. I like the fact that you only need to hit a button to replay or skip over a song!
