Default Stores That Have Died Down Due To A Tragic Event

The first one is the Hollywood Mall in Hollywood, Florida. This is the mall where Adam Walsh was abducted. They said when this happened, this mall started to become abandoned. I wonder if that same Sears store is still there where him and his mom were shopping.

The Jamesway store in Seacaucus, New Jersey died down even before the chain went bankrupt. According to lostdestinations.com, there were stabbings here and someone was raped. The store was also shabby.

I cant remember the location, but there was a Hardees that closed down because there was a fatal shooting nearby.

The Lane Bryant store last February where those five women were murdered. Is that store still there?

There was also a huge shopping mall somewhere out in Nevada that closed due to the high crime rate in the nearby area.

There years ago in my city there was an incident when two motorcycle shop employees were killed by a mentally ill man. The shop was closed down for a month after the murders then almost a year later the owner had to close because of financial problems

There was a bank in a strip mall in my old neighbourhood who got robbed and a teller was shot and murdered there. It was a tight community and the woman was well known with two small children.

They closed the bank immediately and it never reopened. They couldn't even lease the space for a good 6 years. It's finally been divided up but only one side has been leased out still.

There was a mall around here called Bashford Manor which was about ten minutes from me. In the early 80's, Louisville had an Adam Walsh case of our own inside that mall with a little girl named Ann Gotlib who still hasn't been found 25 years later, that didn't really do anything to the mall, but in the late 90's, a woman got raped at gunpoint outside of the Target entrance and the mall quickly started becoming abandoned. Now it's a Wal-Mart Superstore.

There was a Master Pizza not far from my home where a teenage employee was kidnapped and killed by her boss. They found her body months later in the woods about 10 miles away. Needless to say, business plummeted and the place shut down soon after. There are other Master Pizzas around our area, however. The plaza this particular one was in was torn down, rebuilt, and there now are IHOP, Alltel, Quizno's and H&R Block.

My uncle's house was three blocks away from a bowling alley in Bakersfield. Apparently, there was a shoot out there and the place closed down two years after. The building has been abandoned for over ten years.

I think a lot of businesses and stores also lose money because they stay closed down for months after murders because the police want to keep the scene in tact for evidence testing and stuff. I agree that sometimes business will go down because people feel weird shopping or being at a place where a murder took place.

You know, I never thought of it that way. Good point.
