Cool Beverly Hillbillies question

Does anyone know what street the Hillbillies are filmed coming down at the start of each episode?

I thought it might be near the mansion that was used in the filming (which has been torn down if you can imagine) but its not, or at least I couldnt find it.
Thanks

Gene

I think the street they're driving down is Beverly Blvd. For more info on the Hillbillies see the Beverly Hillbilly boards in the 60's forum.

I think it says in the book by Steven Cox that it's Sunset Boulevard.

And somewhere in this forum there's a post by someone saying that they were surprised to find out recently that the mansion WASN'T torn down; and it's still standing!

I cant find the source that said the mansion was torn down and replaced with another one but I did find this site which makes it appear that the house is still there. Ill dirve by the next time Im in Bel Aire and see if I can pester them with a "Is Jed in?"

No no.. it wasn't torn down only the facade was redone a little bit and the courtyard entrance walled off so you can no longer view it from the street. You can still view the Drysdale Mansion from the street and it is virtually unchanged from the television show, Jennifer Anniston now lives there. Below are the links to the threads on the Clampett Mansion.

I think your right comedyfreak, I vote for Beverly Blvd too! I didn't have time but when I was out there this summer I wanted to look for some homes along the street that matched the opening credits when they pan over to the Kellog's sign or Winston's truck so I could tell exactly where they filmed it along the street. The homes are most likely changed since then but you never know.

Having been there several times, I think it's Sunset, Blvd. FYI: A lot of the establishing shots were on Santa Monica, Blvd. and also Wilshire.
