Are you guys ready for the big news?

You sitting down? Because this is big.

It looks like I have a job.

Yes, after many months of odd jobs and government handouts, TJL will be gainfully employed very soon.

It looks like I'm going to be working for my brother again.

You'll recall that my Brother and I parted ways back in the Spring when he decided to fold his company and go work for a relative's company doing construction supervision work.

Well, his new company is starting a 3-4 month project here in NYC shortly, and he needs me to be his assistant. It's a very important project for the government, so there's lots of paperwork and management stuff involved, so he needs an extra pair of hands to run things.

As much as I didn't want to go back into the construction biz, I really need the money and I won't have to get my hands dirty. Plus since the job is downtown, I can commute via subway.

I have to see him tomorrow to talk over the details. I am anxious to get back to work and do something besides sit on my butt all day.

Thank you. I was very lucky. Things are very tough out there. A friend of mine is moving out of the City and back home in a week because he can't find work in his field.
Another month and I probably would have had to do the same.

FINALLY! It's about time one of us finally got successful with this stupid job hunt! It's been a year and a half and I've still been unsuccessful. I go out there to find a job doing everything I'm supposed to, including the way I act in interviews and still nothing. I still think it's because of the area I live in, my age and that I'm female.
