Post Restaurant Portions

When you eat out, do you prefer to pay more for an oversized portion or to pay less to get less? I can't eat a lot in one sitting, so I like places that serve portions that I cook at home. We have a restaurant chain around here called, The 99. It's a casual place where the prices are very reasonable, but nobody's taking a doggy bag home.

One thing I like about most Chinese food restaurants is that their portions are large, so it makes for great leftovers. There you have great value and big portions. One thing that bugs me is to pay a lot and to leave hungry. Back in the day, most restaurants always served salads with their meals. Now, we're lucky if we get rolls and butter or a glass of water, lol.

Portion sizes basically have been reduced since the 80s (thankfully since I can't eat much and grew up with "what about the starving children in Biafra [where Biafra is I never did find out!lol]) so I hate wasting food.

I also hate paying $75 for some artisy fartsy 2 ozs of food piled up to look fancy.

If I could, I'd order from the children's menu most of the time because of my lousy appetite. Sometimes I'll just make an appetizer my main dish instead. If not, it's doggy bag time.

If I know you as well as I think I do, your doggy bag really goes to your dogs.

Not so famous because I never heard of FAMOUS DAVES, lol. That must be SOME portion considering your appetite AND leaving with a doggy bag.

I have a big appetite so I always try to get as much as I can. I tend to eat at a lot of buffets because that way I'm sure that I won't go home hungry.

Their's a Italian Restaurant just down the road from where I live that gives you salad and garlic bread with your spaghetti dinner. I always make sure I get those when I order to go.

I always like eating places where I know I'll bring a doggy bag home, you know you've gotten your moneys worth. Olive Garden usually seems to be great with portions, enough that you can have for lunch the next day

I like to get bigger portions myself. Rarely do I finish it in one sitting though, because I get nervous around lots of people, and my stomache usually starts to hurt around the half hour mark in a restaurant. I like getting a doggy bag though, and having something to eat later. I always say I'm going to save it for lunch the next day, but in reality, I usually eat it that night as a midnight snack. lol!

I'm not a big eater, so I'd rather pay less. I hardly ever buy buffets because I never get my monies worth.
