Cool When you're stressed....

what do you do to relax/calm down/make things better for yourself etc.? For me, I take a nice, hot, long shower, watching my The Wonder Years complete set DVD also relaxes me a good amount...sometimes taking walks & playing sports help to alleviate a lot of stress or pain. Music is a big component in relieving stress for me- I love it & it relaxes the stress out of me. What about you? Talking to friends also might help.

bleh, hope you feel better soon.

But I feel you. Trying to relax just doesn't cut it for me. I'm too anxious of a person. Crying ends up being all you can do.

No particular strategy, just ride it out. Prayer works for me, and maybe a psalm--but when I'm coming out of the stress and calming down, not when I'm in the worst part of it. When I'm stressed, I'll still pray, but not very reflectively, just short prayers--anything longer doesn't seem to work at this stage, because it's harder for me to concentrate. Then once I've calmed down, then music, TV or any other distraction helps heal the effects of the stress.

This is so me, especially the crying part! Warm showers work wonders, though!

Talking to friends never helped me 99.9% of the time- yes crying does solve something!

Writing steamy stories or long rambling musings, working on avatars and wallpapers or watching stupid cartoons like Family Guy usually helps. When I'm particularly angry about something I like to play the first two levels of Shadow the Hedgehog. There's something therapeutic about playing an angry hedgehog youth with a gat while listening to some rap in the background.

Cry, listen to music, walking, making a joke about how much life sucks. I just try to tell myself that everything is all right and I'm all right than I feel better. It takes some time but it really works because calm just clicks in when it's supposed to.
