Best Buy offers Sony TV Lunchboxes with previously released DVD sets - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Just a FYI for collectors.....Best Buy is offering 8 different lunchbox tins tied to previously released season 1 sets of Sony properties at $19.99 each. The nicely illustrated lunchboxes are in fully embossed color and resemble each of their respective DVD counterparts. I support this endevor for the holiday shopping season but one makes you wonder that this is just another way for Sony to re-hash and re-package titles that they have mostly abandoned and probably have so many left over in their inventory that they need now to incase them in lunchboxes...hopefully they will stirr up sales interest as they are very noticeable on the store display shelf...titles I can remember are......all are season 1 sets....

Facts Of Life
Fantasy Island
Charlie's Angels
Good Times
The Partridge Family

I was very surprised to see these in my local store last night. At first, I thought it might have bonus discs or something. Then, I realized it was the same thing re-packaged and put it down. They don't look that cheap to manufacture either. Seems like a waste to put the effort into that instead of the next season of each series. They were nice but not worth shelling out another $19.99 for.

It's still a good sign. I'd buy Charlie's Angels and Silver Spoons in a flash if I lived in the US! (I already have GT and DS).

As for FOL, I'm really waiting for season 4 to start off my collection.

I'd like if WB and Fox would do some special tins or collectable lunch boxes as well. I'd like to see special tins for Night Court Season 2 and American Dad Volume 4. I have no tin sets... yet. I'm planning to get the MST3K 20th Anniversary set when I can afford it.
