Default SHOUT OUT to Shout! Father Knows Best Season 2 EXCELLENT!

Shout it from the rooftops or The Anderson Family Backyard, Shout Factory has done a tremendous job with the release of "Father Knows Best, Season 2" which is officially released this Tuesday, November 11. Great silk screened photos adorn each disc including some candids, the back of the box clearly says the set contains 36 UNEDITED episodes!, making up for some edited episodes in season 1. Episodes clock in at a full 25:50! The menus have a nice touch as they continue in episode order with disc one starting and stating on the menu episode #27. This is something DVD companies hardly do as they start over with #1 on a second season set even though techincially the episode number would not be #1...hope that makes sense to everyone.........also to over "anal"ize....I noticed the sticker on the original season 1 shrinkwarp said the set contained 24 episodes, an error that wasn't caught since season 1 actually contained 26 episodes...hence season two begins at episode 27!
The extras on superb....a minor puzzling factor is why they included the flashback episode from the latter season....also it has no open, but it makes me wonder do they have plans do get to the latter seasons where the flashback episodes would be released in proper order or will they just get re-released? the only minor problem, is there is no insert booklet this time containing episode synopsis as in season 1, but this set is 5 discs instead of 4 as was season 1

Bottomline if you are a fan of this classic family sitcom and were slightly disappointed with season 1, please give it another try as season 2 is a delight

Default Already got mine!

My local Best Buy was braking the street date on this release. They had 2 copies of Fathers Knows Best season 2 sitting on the shelf today. Of course I grabbed one of them and bought it. Realy looking forward to watching the season 2 episodes. Guess I know what I'm going to be doing this weekend.
Yeah glad to know the episodes are all uncut.

Hallelujah !!!! That is awesome. I have my Deep Discount 25% off code and am all ready to place my order.

Teeveecloset, did they put both the original and the re-do on the DVD, or just the re-do? I wasn't clear about that part.

Thanks for the good news !!!

Yes I wasn't clear on that one...yes both the original and re-do are on the set, as mentioned the re-do has no open, yet it is also advertised on the set as an expanded episode....odd, but this set is still a must.....As for more detail on the extras the interview with Ellinor & Lauren is very nice, running about 10 minutes, Billy Grey is sorely missing. As for another episode of "Window on Main Street", I still enjoyed it very much but I'm afraid the series took a different tone after the already released one hour pilot. It is now a half hour series with some comedy and drama, there is actually canned laughter throughout some parts and then others are over-dramatized. It certainly was a groundbreaking series for the time and hopefully we will get more episodes on future sets but to be honest I didn't enjoy the episode as much as #1. but still season 2 is a thumbs UP!

I too ordered from Deep Disc., so don't have it yet. i was annoyed by the way they cut out the Screen Gems logo on S1...am wondering if they included it on some or all episodes for S2.

I am also anxoius to see if the House Painter ep. has closing credits which match the episode. The syndication print had the wrong closing credits.

I'm waiting for my season 2 copy from deep discount too. I can't wait until it (and The Donna Reed Show season 1) arrive. I didn't realize how much I liked this show until I watched the first season. I watched it on and off in reruns when I was a kid.

Wow they are on Season Two of this. They are moving fast for a show that was done before 1969.

I want to see this again.

Default WINDOW ON MAIN STREET

How great it is that they've again included an episode of
WINDOW ON MAIN STREET in the package!!!
I hope they continue that trend, and one day get to the
rare Xmas episode of WINDOW ON MAIN STREET in a future
package.

Yes I totally agree and would love to see the christmas themed "Window On Main Street" episode....as explained in my previous post, I was a bit disappointed in the latest episode of window on season 2, the theme and tone of the series changed after the one hour dramatic pilot. The season 2 episode has comedic elements with canned laughter, then overacted serious drama. The series was certainly ahead of its time as a early "dramedy", but it seemed very unevenly scripted and acted and I can see now why it failed.
Shout does include the original commercials making the episode extra interesting!

This is one fantastic job! The video is superb, and a few episodes have some minor audio problems. Any FKB fan needs to buy this set!

As is well known by now, the episodes on this set are the unedited versions. The only thing missing on all-but-one episode is Robert Young's intro to next week's episode (probably cut out and lost).

Enjoyed the intro by Robert Young in the one episode, then read later he did that for each episode. Too bad those couldn't all have been included as well. Overall, a great job by Shout Factory and hope we don't have to wait too long for Season 3.

Father Knows Best/Donna Reed/Mister Peepers, I'm not really a fan of these shows but the DVD's are a tempting buy. So far, I have resisted the temptation. Eventually I may decide to get Father Knows Best. Mister Peepers, perhaps. Donna Reed, most likely not.

Hey my friend Lee, if your going to get Peepers 2, get it fast...I have it on very reliable knowledge only 500 were made....as for the first peepers set, one of the discs has a manufacturing error and replacements are no longer being issued, so stay away!
