I don't know why it keeps putting the grin icon in the link.

I believe it. I used to love Circuit City but lately they've been ripping off on their electronics. I had to exchange my 4gb Creative Zen because some of the boxes labeled as 4gb actually had 2gb players in them. When I went and exchanged Zens, they made me pay a penalty even though I was sold the player at the sale price.

I liked my one experience at CC. Only one because we don't have any here. Actually, the only place to get electronics here is Best Buy...oh joy.

i've never liked circuit city, they have a poor selection of dvds, the ones located near me anyway. same with best buy,i don't even buy my dvds in the store anymore i use ebay or amazon.com marketplace. a lot cheaper. most everything else i buy from walmart or walmart.com where a lot of items are offered with 97cents shipping. i bought a beautiful bathrobe and paid just 97 cents for the shipping and got it practically the next day. it was an estimated delivery of oct. 31-nov.4 and i got it october 30.

That's too bad. I like CC. The clerks are very helpful. At BB it is hard to find someone to help you.

Although I liked going to CC, their prices have always been too high, and in this bad economy, that's a nail in the coffin...

The Best Buy and the Circuit City stores in my area have good service and selections of items. I rarely shop at those stores though. Circuit City has been having financial troubles for a few years. My cousin worked at store in Arizona and he got laid off last year.

I agree!! But CC does have an extremely poor selection of CDs/DVDs, and mismanagement sure hasn't helped. I hope the employees are able to find work quickly!!

I seriously doubt that Sears is going out of business. I'd be really disappointed because I love their Lands End stuff! I'm also disappointed about Linens and things (which IS going out of business) because I liked it better than Bed Bath and Beyond; mainly because the store isn't as HUGE as BB&B.

It's sad all these businesses are going under. I would think that they could rake in some dough staying open through Christmas anyway. Or if that can't happen then it certainly will get people to start shopping "early".

I'm glad I don't work in retail anymore!

^The closing of Sears would be a sad day in American corporate history. But sadly, that company is being ran by fools who are letting it die. Nowadays there's simply no reason to go there when there is a Target right around the corner.

Luckily the CC by my house isn't closing, but it's a bummer to see the one in Compton closing. That city has been making LOTS of progress lately by bringing in several business (Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, Albertsons, Fresh & Easy, Chili's, TGI Fridays) which were all once too afraid to open up stores there.

Yes, the Linens N Things near me is having a huge going out of business sale. A shame, really.
