I posted these for a couple shows' specific inconsistencies, but I wonder how y'all feel about goofs in general.
Let's say you have a compelling story arc for a sitcom - any sitcom. Problem is, you have to create an inconsitency - you've tried and tried, and unless a character says he or she lied abuot something, there will be an inconsistency. And, for some reason, you can't get around it; maybe you're the writer and your boss says "do it." (No fair quitting, you have an imaginary family to feed and imaginary home in Beverly Hills As a fan, how would you rather see it handled? BTW, #3 means you only have to say 1-3 episodes were dreams; you might get away with part of one being a dream. And it's not like it was the previous week's episode. So, you're not fooling your audence *too* much. |

Say character lied in a touching scene where they confess; sadly, it's human nature. |

there are other ways around it than that; I would prefer that the writers work a little harder to make the explanation make sense without using any rip-off dream explanation or something.

The writers should have caught it in the first place, therefore not even making it to the episode.
