Default Oh How the Times Have Changed!

One thing that people have written quite a bit about in the past was that, in all of the scenes that took place in the bathroom, you never once saw a toilet! This had to do with the time that the show was made and what you could or could not show. It was only a few years after the days that they had to show husbands and wives in seperate beds! As I am sure that most readers know, as time went on, the censors got more and more liberal in terms of what they could show. Let us fast-faward to the nineties and a show like "Will and Grace". Grace was constantly talking about her bathroom functions to whoever would listen! One of my favorite references by Grace to the toilet had to do with an inflatable neck pillow that she found in her husband's travel bag. After Leo retrieved his bag, he was about to put his pillow back in it. Grace said that he may not want to do that because of something else that she had been using it for. Leo could not imagine what on earth Grace had been doing with his pillow. Grace said, you see, it fits right over the toilet seat! I recently posted a message about this over on the "Will and Grace" page. I would be very interested in what any of you think of it!

Why on earth would you want to see a toilet anyway? Also why on earth would you want to hear about a comedy series characters "bathroom functions".? It just shows how much humour has declined in taste in recent decades, it's not "progress", at all.

I would tend to agree, some things are better left alone.

Merely showing a toilet where one would be expected and calling attention to it are two different things.

Let's not forget that on numerous occasions the Bradys, especially Bobby and Cindy, were often shown with toothpaste foam coming out of their mouths!
