CW in Talks for New ‘Melrose Place’ - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

First “90210,” now ... “Melrose”?

The CW and CBS Paramount Network Television are “exploring” the possibility of creating a new version of “Melrose Place,” according to a rep for the studio. “Melrose Place,” of course, was the hugely successful spinoff from Fox’s “Beverly Hills, 90210.”

There’s been buzz about a possible “Melrose” revival from the moment the CW picked up the new “90210” last spring. But the early ratings success for the new ZIP show has turned such speculation into reality.

The CBS Paramount spokeswoman was quick to stress that the talks about reviving “Melrose” have just begun. There are no writers or showrunners attached, she said.

Still, at least one key component of the original “Melrose”—special guest star Heather Locklear—is currently available for hire.

Oh geez...it's like they're going through old TV Guides. I liked the way Melrose Place ended.

I completely understand how some of you feel...that we should leave well enough alone & not ruin this great show by bringing it back to life. I certainly loved the show as much as anyone & if it were up to me, I'd bring back all the original characters BEFORE Megan, Kyle, Kyle's bro (forgot his name), Jennifer Mancini (Michael's sis). The only latest character I liked was Lexi played by Jamie Luner.

I was very dissapointed to hear this...I really liked the original series and dont want to see it ruined like they did with 90210...Havent seen the new one but watched the original and that rocked.

I'm glad WPIX in NY is going independent again. I'm sure in no time they'll be done with CW all together!
