Default Britcoms on your PBS station

I was going to post this in the ATGB thread, but I didn't want it to go off-topic. For those of you who have Britcoms on your PBS station, or maybe if not on there, somewhere else, what is the schedule like?

Here, Georgia Public Broadcasting has a whole night of Britcoms every Saturday and it is as follows:

8:00 PM - Keeping Up Appearances
8:30 PM - Are You Being Served?
9:00 PM - Waiting for God
9:30 PM - As Time Goes By
10:00 PM - A Fine Romance
10:30 PM - To The Manor Born
11:00 PM - Last of the Summer Wine
11:30 PM - Fawlty Towers

I LOVE To The Manor Born. Bought the entire series on DVD.

Here in New Jersey it is currently:

Saturday night:

9:00- Last Of The Summer Wine
9:30- As Time Goes By
10:00- One Foot In The Grave
10:30- Waiting For God
11:00- The Thin Blue Line
11:30- The Black Adder (3rd Series currently running)

I have to say that One Foot In The Grave is currently my Favorite. The character of Victor Meldrew is BRILLIANT. I laugh every time I here any one say "I don't believe it" now.

I look forward to it all week long. My Saturday night britcom fest. I'm a musician and when I watch these shows I ALWAYS wind up writing at least 1 piece of music. As of now they are off the britcoms and showing Il Divo concerts to try and raise money for the station. If they REALLY want to raise money they shouls just play Britcoms 24/7. Oh well...

HAve a good one.

Default Our schedule not as good

That's great that you can view so many. I'm in Nevada, but get satellite out of Salt Lake City. Our PBS Station has always aired Red Dwarf on Saturday Nights at 9:30pm PST/10:30pm MST for at least the last 17 years. Everything else alternates. Right now we have Are You Being Served? and Last of the Summer Wine on weeknights, and (I know it's not exactly a Britcom) Monarch of the Glen on Sundays.

My PBS station is pulling Keeping Up Appearances -- it's midway through the series -- I'm really bummed out!

Mine hardly shows any, anymore. As Time Goes By is on every weeknight at 11 and on Sundays for an hour at 9 PM, preceded by 2 episodes of KUA and 2 of AYBS. That is about it. Used to also get Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, To the Manor Born, Good Neighbors, Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, One Foot in the Grave, Chef!, and maybe some others I am forgetting right now--those were 20-30 years ago in various combinations (showing my age LOL)!

What a great line up! That was the line up that got me hooked on Britcoms. At this date the present line up locally is:

So Haunt Me
Good Nieghbors/The Good Life
KUA
AYBS
ATGB
ATGB

I think ATGB has run twice a week for more than a decade, usually followed by something from Masterpiece. Last night, if you would allow me to indulge, I had not planned to watch "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" on Masterpiece. But it came on and the face and voice of the lead character had me so puzzled. I knew it was someone I liked, but who? Turned out to be Mathew Rhys of "The Americans". What a superb actor!

We get 3 PBS stations here in the Philly suburbs - WHYY (12) based in Wilmington/Philadelphia, 23 - NJTV, and WLVT (39) from the Allentown area. Most of the best Britcom viewing is on 39 on Saturday nights:

8:00 -9:00 Keeping Up Appearances
9:00 -10:00 As Time Goes By
10:00 -11:00 Are You Being Served? My personal favorite
11:00 - 12:00 Waiting for God

Channel 23 has some sporadic showings, but it is mainly on 'Appearances'. Channel 12 used to show a different Britcom every weekday evening, but rarely air any of them now.

Becca,
I wonder if you or anyone else has heard similar announcements by their PBS affiliate?

Last night, just prior to airing AYBS, GPB announced it would no longer run the show because of a dispute with the estate of one of the writers.

all our PBS shows is Good Neighbors (which I haven't really been able to get into) and Mr Bean - which I already own all of them and have seen a million times (but still enjoy).

- but they have just added Dirk Gently, so there is hope for them yet!!!

The line up here as I stated before:

So Haunt Me
Good Nieghbors/The Good Life
KUA
AYBS
ATGB
ATGB

Has been changed since AYBS was canceled due to a conflict with a writer's estate. It was replaced with season one then season two of "The Cafe".

A substantial improvement IMO. The Cafe is a present time, very warm, and well done, mild situation comedy.
