Default Eve Plumb hates Maureen McCormick!

I was shocked when I heard Maureen say during an interview that she and Eve are no longer on speaking terms because of a silly comment she made, like, ten years ago about having a crush on Eve, but it was all just a joke that was taken out of perportion. Still, I don't see what all the fuss is about. Eve and Maureen were friends on the show, but to get all bitter over a silly joke. A few girlfriends of mine made similar jokes in public, but I never got bitter about it. Even if they were made public. I didn't care. If you ask me, I think Eve is just bitter and jealous and I still think she's holding a grudge over that mutual crush they once had on Christopher Knight. You could just see Eve seething during that TV Land reunion show when Maureen was gushing about her crush on Chris. That's a shame. To think that the actresses who played Jan and Marcia in "The Brady Bunch Movie" and "A Very Brady Sequel" are still best friends in real life...yet the original actresses apparently hate each other. Such a shame.

Yeah it is a shame but I kinda do blame Eve. As I've said in the Maureen McCormick book thread, I bet there are people who think Maureen and Eve are gay or something. Remember that thread awhile back saying they were gay? I think there was one.

Plus, you don't want someone saying something about you that isn't true.

I'll give you two examples I gave on that thread.

Like Richard Jewell, he was accused of being the Olympic bomber in 1996 in Atlanta. Media scortched him as he said he was innocent. Turns out he was. He sued media outlets and the FBI for slander. How much you want to bet there are people out there who STILL believe that Jewel was the Olympic bomber even if the media and Feds admit they were wrong?

How about the Ramsey family. Even after the investigations and stuff they were finally exonerated just recently. Gosh, I forgot what year that girl died but the media and feds kinda made it seem like they had something to do with their daughter's death. Grant it, I kinda think they had something to do with her death.

Yes it is a shame they aren't speaking but Maureen shouldn't have said that.

Overall, I liked Maureen's book and Maureen definitely has earned the right to tell what she believes is the truth but, if one of her goals has been to reconnect with Eve, I don't think any of us should be surprised if Eve maintains a chilly stance for some time after what Maureen wrote about Eve's alleged teenaged dressing room antics.

I think "hate" is a bit strong of a word to use, but it is a shame that their friendship has spoiled. I hope that Maureen and Eve can resolve their differences and become friends again. They go back 40 years, which means they've known each other for most of their lives. It would be a shame if they walked away for good now.

Being in their 40's & 50's, you'd think they'd stop acting like kids.

They're BOTH in their 50s now (Maureen is 52 and Eve is 50) - and you're absolutely right.

If anything, they should see how life is too short for these petty grudges...a lesson they should clearly see from the Joyce DeWitt/Suzanne Somers still not talking fiasco.

Not to mention real life sisters Olivia de Havilland and Joan Fontaine. They are both in their 90s and still don't speak. Such a shame...

Yep, it's "Trivial Pursuit: America Plays" Christopher Knight's hosting (it's a syndicated game show, so check your local listings).

Default It's all about years of jealousy, really...

In all the years they worked together, I highly doubt Maureen and Eve were ever really close friends. I've heard that Eve was always extremely jealous of Maureen's popularity and looks, there were even times when Eve would have one of her boyfriends visit the set and Maureen, always being the flirt, would strut around in a short skirt. Then there was their crush on Chris, which I don't think is still an issue today (both women are happily married and have kids of their own) but back then both of them were fighting for his attention. Of course, Eve won out. It was only fair being that Maureen was already shagging Barry Williams. I even read that when the kids had their singing group, Eve really grew resentful of Maureen allegedly because Maureen was being paid more money and was being given special treatment and had a huge ego about the whole thing. From that point on, Eve and Maureen were barely even on speaking terms, which might be the reason why during the final season you could really feel the tension between them during their scenes together. Then when "The Brady Bunch Variety Hour" was on, Eve decided not to take part in it (smart move, Eve) because partially she was filming a TV movie and because she didn't want to be associated with her character or "The Brady Bunch"...but mostly, she wanted nothing to do with Maureen. Even during "The Brady Brides", which Eve did take part in mostly for the money, the two of them were constantly at odds with each other. By "A Very Brady Christmas", if you notice both of them are barely even in the same room with each other in the movie, because Eve and Maureen were not speaking at all. I think, even now, Eve has always been resentful of all the attention aimed at Maureen, even thougn Eve is a much better actress (and at least in my opinion far more attractive) and you can sort of understand that because Eve had to spend years of her adolescence playing second fiddle and her character, Jan, was always being portrayed as a loser, while Marcia was the "pretty" and "popular" one who always got the guy and was an overachiever. You just knew that the "My Sister's Shadow" episode hit very close to Eve, because when she was saying "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!!" she was really upset and she really wanted to say "Maureen, Maureen, Maureen!!" then she almost lost it when she said "I'm tired of being in Marcia's shadow all the time!!" and she flubbed her line, you knew she sort of broke character. I never really liked Maureen/Marcia while watching the show, because she was always too prissy and stuck up, nor did I ever see why guys thought she was such a knockout. I always loved Jan because as geeky as she was in the earlier seasons, there was always something very beautiful about her and she was more relatable. Now, Maureen's going around spilling secrets not only about herself, but about her castmates and I here she really goes to town on Eve, talking about her attempted trysts with Chris Knight and other really private stuff (nothing about the alleged "lesbian" thing). Lastly, I really can't blame Eve for being angered by Maureen saying she had a thing for her, which started all these rumors to begin with, because she never really came out and corrected it afterwards. Face it, Maureen's just a publicity hound who craves attention now that you have Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan dominating the headlines.
