Default Dear TJL IV - The Quest For Peace

Hi Kids. TJL here.

It's no secret that I know lots of stuff.
Stuff most people don't know, or want to know.
I have so much stuff in my head, I have to wear earplugs at night so the stuff doesn't leak out all over the bed linens, and believe you me, no amount of febreze is going to clean that up.

Anyhoo, it's that time again for me to share my ginormous knowledge of stuff with you, the Sitcoms Online community, and since I have some time to kill before the premiere of Crusoe on NBC tonight, I guess now is a pretty good time.

Got a question or query? Ask TJL and he will help!*

* Help not guaranteed in Alaska or Hawaii. See store for details.

Is the hospital on ER built over a haunted burial ground or something? How can so many employees from one place die in so many different horrible ways? Even the 4077th didn't have as many deaths and they were in a war zone.

Speaking of MASH, if Radar was psychic then why wasn't he able to predict that Henry Blake's plane would be shot down?

Also, what is the appeal of Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise, Brangelina, Miley Cyrus, and all the Britney clones? I reallly need to know!

I guess that's enough for now Oh yeah, how could Carla not get fired from Cheers? Of course, she did do more work than Diane or Rebecca

And was Lowell on Wings stupid or a genius? Speaking of Wings, whatever happened to Kenny?

Hey, you said you have a lot of knowledge

I'm back with one more question: when the heck is the US Government going to bail me out?

I noticed this offer is only good in the continental U.S..

Guess it's not offered to Canadians? Or if it is, do we have to pay the exchange rate?

So many questions from the Lady Of Chesney:

Is the hospital on ER built over a haunted burial ground or something? How can so many employees from one place die in so many different horrible ways? Even the 4077th didn't have as many deaths and they were in a war zone.

A haunted burial ground didn't kill the thousands of cast members who bought it on E.R. Maura Tierney did! When Abby joined the cast, it was like the opening of Saving Private Ryan! You think Ramano's helicopter mishap was an accident? Abby set the whole thing up. And I'm pretty sure she gave Anthony Edwards brain cancer. Haven't proved that one yet.

Speaking of MASH, if Radar was psychic then why wasn't he able to predict that Henry Blake's plane would be shot down?

Radar's amazing powers had only a limited range. Like cheap walkie talkies or Mark Wahlberg.

Also, what is the appeal of Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise, Brangelina, Miley Cyrus, and all the Britney clones? I reallly need to know!

Jennifer Aniston - her hair, her inability to keep a man
Tom Cruis - see above
Brangelina - They've adopted everybody. So don't talk about your Mother.
Miley Cyrus - Totally computer generated. Those Pixar guys are good.

And was Lowell on Wings stupid or a genius? Speaking of Wings, whatever happened to Kenny?

Lowell was stupid. He always screwed things up. That's why the castaways never got off Nantucket Island.

Thanks for playing!

Default One more from Chesneylady

when the heck is the US Government going to bail me out?

You didn't get your check yet?

I got mine yesterday. 4 billion dollars.

I asked for ten billion. But you take what you can get I guess.

Of course questions are welcome from Canada.

As for the exchange rate, I'll take two Rush albums and some Blue Jays tickets.

Nah, skip the tickets.

Dear TJL,

When is Wayne Rogers going to propose to me?
And when he does, will you be the best man?

That's odd...

Wayne was supposed to come to your house today with flowers and a ring to pop the question. I wonder what happened.

Oh darn, looks like I gave him the wrong address. My bad.

Sorry. Well at least someone a block over from your place is going to have a nice wedding.

a. An airplane is flying at 300 miles per hour, heading 30 degrees North of East. What are the magnitudes of the North and East components of the velocity?
b. A wind from due North starts blowing at 40 miles per hour. What is the new velocity of the plane? (magnitude and direction)

A horizontal force F=150N is applied to the pulley (m=5kg) which has a massless rope going over it connected to the wall on one end and to the block (m=10kg) on the other. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the ground and the block is (0.40). Assume that there exists a constant vertical force on the pulley which supports its weight.

a.
What are the accelerations of the block and the pulley?
b.
What is the tension in the rope?

why is it so hard to hit the subdominant note of a scale while sight-singing without pausing to think about the interval of the pitch from the tonic? i try to momentarily imagine that i'm singing a song that uses a IV chord in the circle progression like i do with some other scale degrees, but it's never right. i know that it clashes with the mediant because they're only a minor second apart, but i can sing the leading tone, supertonic and submediant well enough and the notes of the tonic triad perfectly, so why is it just the subdominant that's so stubborn?

I difer this answer to my vocal coach, a man who knows a thing or two about tones.
