The necrophilia and snuff video allegations made in the Ellender case.

The woman and her son terrorized and the woman raped on a Memorial Day outing and the recreations of same showing the son watching his mother getting raped.

Good lord! Does anyone know the name of this case? I could have sworn I saw some case like this on UM.

I always found the Gary Grant Jr case to be somewhat shocking.

What about the case of a missing wife where we learn eight years later that the prime suspect, her husband, killed his girlfriend and wounded her lover and then took his own life. Can't remember names but that was as shocking as they come.

I always found that the link between the Veronica Jefferson and Rachel Raver/Warren Fulton murders to be shocking, since it was made through UM and because the police assumed that Jefferson was murdered by someone she knew.

The Keith Warren case was also shocking...both how his body was found and that the photos were delivered to his mother's front door. Scary stuff.

Yes, I thought it was bizarre for the UM re-enactment to go into such detail.

I don't remember her name offhand, but I want to say that she was a private investigator. I have the story on tape somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it up.

It was kept off Lifetime for years until they started showing "new" episodes in 2001 or whenever.

EDIT - The woman's name was only given as "Teresa" in the segment. She was a PI and her partner in the detective agency was a guy named Kenneth W. Treuter. I Googled his name and found some shady stuff (not pertaining to the case), including an article mentioning Teresa's last name.

That was referred to as "The River Wild" case and an update said they were getting a lot of good leads on it. Did any suspects turn up?

I don't know. There was no update on my taped copy but it is several years old.

Their detective agency is still in business. I was thinking of emailing them and asking but I wasn't sure if that would be the best idea.

This case seemed solvable. Some people at the docks seemed like they might know the identity of the two men but were reluctant to talk to investigators.

I feel bad for the kid. I'm sure he needed some serious therapy after this.

Okay ---

The guy sitting up and screaming in his bed in the Tallman's Ghost segment gave me nightmares for weeks when I was a kid. That will always stick with me as the number one most shocking moment.

Also, I was always (as I'm sure most people were) freaked out by the criminals pictures, or an artist rendition of said criminal. Ugh. Those would cause me to turn away after a few seconds. The most memorable of those are the creepy blonde hair guy in the segment where the older couple were staying the night at a rest stop in (I believe) what was called The Blind River Murders.

The most shocking moment for me though (outside of a ghost story) has to be the moment in a segment where a creepy old dude was going door-to-door convincing girls that he needed to inspect their milk cartons to make sure they were up to code. The actor they got to play this guy was creepy as hell, with his rose tinted glasses and sex offender creepiness...it was the first thing you saw when the UM graphic would start the show, and they would introduce the segments for the nights broadcast. I just always remember the show starting with that horrible image of the girl opening the door and that creepy dude peering in...and then during the segment when they cut to outside of the house, and all you hear is the little girl screaming...ugh...still gives me the creeps.

I actually thought that was quite funny but anyways, when I read the title I thought of "Debbie". I think that was the name they gave her, the one who was abducted, taken into the woods and shot in the face. Maybe Edward Bell was another which was hard to watch the first time.

I agree on the composites ... That was , for the most part the scariest thing for me growing up . I can remember my older sister calling me in the room , right when the composite drawing would come up , and freak me out .

The case with the guy going around to the Girls houses , I believe was , he was pretending to be a police officer , and he had the ugly glasses and a beard and a mustache , and I also think he used the name " Tom Coles" , I remember this case well , because , the one where they showed him at the door he was supposed to have been in Jackson MS ( where I was born ) and then they show him driving off in a car with Alabama plates, and he comes to Mobile AL ( where I live now) and that was very weird .

Oh Lord, the "Debbie" re-enactment, with that awful voice: "You ain't goin' nowhere!" That one's terrible.

The most shocking UM moment in my opinion was the showing of the steamer trunk victim photo. God, did that traumatize me for months on end. Albeit viewers were warned it was graphic, I wasn't expecting anything like that at all. That was the single worst thing I've ever seen on television, hands down. I'll never watch that segment again, seriously.
