Thumbs up That was the night that the lights went out in GA...

The episode where Julia defends Suzanne from those women's rude comments, oh I love that scene! Where she describes the baton twirling, and ends it with " That was the night the lights went out in Georgia!" That was so fierce to me!!

In the episode "Killing All the Right People" Julia let that self-righteous prud have it. That was classic.

Julia was one tough cookie & I loved the way she put those women in their place.

Me too!! Seems like Dixie Carter plays tough Southern women-loved her as Maggie (another tough no nonsense Southern woman) on Diffrent Strokes.

These 2 instances are probably Julia's 2 greatest FIRED-UP moments!

Another of my favorite "fired up" moments is when she tells off that man running for office in the episode "The Candidate". That was a great episode. All of her speeches were extremely well written and Dixie did a wonderful job of brining the script to life. Dixie is sadly missed by me.

Definitely an unforgettable scene, from one of the best episodes of the series. Always loved it when Julia launched into a diatribe against someone who has it coming! The late Dixie Carter is certainly missed...

I've found that if your feeling down, pop in that episode of DW and it will lift your spirits. That speech does wonders for your soul.

On a side note: I'm not sure actually why The Golden Girls is more liked than DW because the writing for DW was spotless versus TGG. I do like TGG but DW is a lot better, IMO.

Feeling sad tonight so I'm currently watching "The Beauty Contest" with that most famous Julia speech.

This episode hold such a special place with me.
