Default Today at Best Buy (The PaleyFest Reunion DVD)

At Best Buy they had a Best Buy Exclusive of the March 2008 PaleyFest reunion of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." I got it (it was actually free, but I bought some other DVDs. I imagine you'd have to buy something first though). Anyways, I watched it. Seth Green was hilarious throughout the whole thing. Charisma didn't talk all that much. But it was great and I'm glad I found it.

I first saw the show back in April at the Paley Center here in NYC. They had a screening of "Once More With Feeling" followed by the panel discussion.

I enjoyed it very much. It was nice to see almost everyone together again (too bad Alyson, Anthony, and David couldn't make it). I too thought Seth Green was laugh out loud hilarious. I loved how involved in the Buffy discussions Sarah Michelle Gellar was. The cast got distracted a few times, and Sarah even said "ok, back to Buffy." LOL. I loved that. And in all fairness Adam, Charisma was hardly asked any questions. The whole panel seemed to be discussing episodes and storylines from seasons 4-6. Well really, they kept talking about the episodes "Hush," "The Body," and "Once More With Feeling." I like those episodes too (especially the musical), but there's many many more fantastic episodes they could have talked about ("Prophecy Girl," "Passion," "Earshot," "Who Are You?," "The Gift," "Tabula Rasa," "Storyteller," etc), rather than the three obvious favorites. Don't get me wrong, those three episodes are very important to the shows' history and needed to be discussed, I just wish there wasn't so much time dedicated to those episodes and hardly any mention of others.

I like Joss Whedon, who doesn't? - but the guy pats himself on the back a little too much, IMHO. Marti Noxon and Amber Benson were cool. I loved Emma Caulfield's shout out to Battlestar Galactica. And Sarah Michelle Gellar was awesome.

They all seem like the kind of people I'd hang out with. James Marsters seems like an extremely nice guy. Michelle Trachtenberg is a little annoying but in a cute way. It's cool that she was a fan of the show and then got to join the cast. That would be like me joining "NewsRadio" or "Wings" in their later years.

Nicholas tried too hard to be funny, but he was at times. Notice when they were asked who would do a Buffy the Musical on Broadway the only two not to raise their hands were Sarah and Charisma. I believe Sarah even said "I'm done."

It's also nice that a genuine fan of "Buffy", Matt Roush was able to do the interviewing.

All in all it was great. I just wished it lasted longer, like three to four more hours.
