Default The 2 Short-Lived Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Sitcoms

The first one was Two of a Kind that was part of the ABC TGIF line-up. It only aired for 22 episodes from September 1998 - July 1999.

Basically it was about a single dad with twin pre-teen daughters. One twin is a sports oriented tomboy and the other is a boy crazy and model obsessed person. The dad hires a nanny in her mid-twenties and the show is based around the girls trying to pair up the dad with the nanny.

The second series was So Little Time that aired on the ABC Family Channel. This one lasted 26 episodes from June 2001 - May 2002.

This one was about twin sisters of separated parents. The parents ran a highly successful fashion label together and continue to still work together after being separated. One twin lives with one parent but the show is centered in the luxury home of the mother since they live right near each other; the dad having moved into a nearby trailer near the home. The show was about whether or not the parents would get back together.

I know of these shows due to my sister who is a hardcore Olsen twin fanatic and that she has the DVD releases of these 2 shows. Did you ever get to watch them?

Not really sure of the point of your post.....but hey the boards are free and for everyone's different topics....but just to be factual.......Two Of A Kind has never had anytype of official DVD or even VHS release. To add a bit of trivia, The name of the series was named after another poker term....Full House, Two Of A Kind!

As do I have the complete run in beautiful master quality on DVD from ABC Family, a very funny and nice effort from the Olsens....too bad it didn't go past one season. I was just pointing out to the original poster when he stated his sister had the dvd releases which is impossible since the show is not commercially available and was never released on DVD or VHS.

I confirmed with her. So Little Time was officially released where as Two of a Kind was not. The dvd she has of it is a fanmade bootleg made from the original airings.

I guess the point of my post was to ask if anyone saw and liked these two short-lived sitcoms; as this is the forum for that.

I enjoyed Two of a Kind and the countless reruns it had on ABC Family. Wasn't that much of a fan of So Little Time and thought it would be easier if the girls had simply revived Two of a Kind for ABC Family. In any case, I know ABC Family wanted to do more So Little Time, but the sisters, by this time, were tired of the series grind and just wanted to concentrate on movies and of course, now, seperate lives.

Yes, I remember watching both "Two of a Kind" (both in its original ABC run and the ad nauseum reruns on Fox Family), and "So Little Time" when they were on. BTW, I do have two volumes of "So Little Time" on DVD, so I know that show was released on DVD sometime around the fall of 2002. Also of interesting note: The character names of Riley & Chloe from "So Little Time" were also used in the Olsen Twins' direct-to-video movie "Winning London" as well.

I used to watch Two of A Kind all the time when it was on FOX Family every afternoon. Also, I sort of liked So Little Time but much preferred Two of A Kind. Haven't watched either show though, however, for at least 5 years.

I didn't watch watch Two of a Kind, but I like So Little Time. So Little Time wasn't perfect though. I really liked the episode where one of the girls dated a guy in a wheelchair.
