Default Betty White vs. Cloris Leachman

The five-time Emmy winner, who also returns to her role as Boston Legal's felonious Catherine Piper on October 28, talked about former Mary Tyler Moore Show costar Cloris Leachman's mondo bizarro stint on Dancing With the Stars. "I've got [Leachman's episodes] on tape," says White, "but I haven't gotten the chance to watch them yet." But from what she's heard, White isn't surprised by Leachman's onscreen antics. "She's being Cloris. And Cloris is certifiably mad. They're going to put her away one of these days." Given that Leachman has already outlasted a few of her younger, stronger castmates, is there any chance that Betty might consider jitterbugging her way over to the ABC hit any time soon? "I don't think so," says White. "You get such an overload of Betty White on everything. You either have to sell your TV set or blow it up to get rid of me."

Lol! that's not the first time I've heard that. Bonnie Hunt and Jon Cryer both said that on Bonnie's talk show.

That last quote from betty is hilarious. I love her!

thanks for sharing.

Betty White is THE best!!! WAY too humble!! I can't get enough of her she's just too good (on the last quote which was great!)

I'd LOVE to see her on DWTS just for fun because she is hilarious and a very talented person in acting and singing....wonder if she can dance....

As I always say, I would want to adopt both of them as my surrogate grans!

That scene in Lars Affair was like passing the nut torch on MTM :-)

I love Chloris Leachman as Phyllis, one of my favourite characters,Betty White can hold her own as Sue-Ann though as we saw in "The Lars Affair".
When Phyllis got her own show,I'm glad Sue-Ann was made a regular on the show, her entrances to the newsroom were always classics,I think Phyllis is slightly my favourite over Sue-Ann cause of all the Mary,Rhoda and Phyllis scenes in the first four seasons and indeed in the final epsiode.

You said it!!

Jay Leno also seems to enjoy and appreciate MTM alums - he has two recurring bits called "Does This Impress Ed Asner?" and "Will This Make Betty White Cringe?" Both are lots of fun.

Yeah it'll be interesting when I get to see S5...no more Rhoda or Phyllis, but on the other hand...SUE ANN. It's tempting to say losing the former two was the end of MTM's prime, but I hear a lot of people saying the best is yet to come in the last three seasons.

Has anyone seen Betty's appearances on Craig Ferguson, BTW? Love them!

Can Betty White Dance? She danced quite a few times on the Golden Girls! There were a couple episodes where the girls were dancing at the senior dance center, and she and Rue McClanahan danced when they were rehearsing for some contest. If she were 10 years younger she would be a shoe-in for DWTS!

Default Betty White! Hands down my favorite Actress of all time!

I just want to say that Betty White is my favorite actress of all time. She is truly genuine and a gracious lady. I had the pleasure of meeting her once, in the late 70's, she was in a department store doing a book signing for her dog book. I was in the store, and heard she was there ran up to that floor, when she and her people were wrapping things up. Everyone had gone through some door except her, Betty turned around and noticed me standing there and asked "Can I help you?" I was kind of taken aback, but was able to tell her I loved you on the MTM show. She replied with her trademark smile, " That was fun!" The encounter is king of vague in my memory, but her stopping to take notice of me, I will never forget! I wasn't even there for her book, but just to get a glimpse of her. She's a class act and I love her on all the shows shes been on MTM, GG's, Mama's Family, Match Game, Password, Betty White Show, all her guest appearances, everything!
