Default Hey Nat's#1Fan...

...I gots a question. Nat's obviously your favorite character. While Mrs. G. is mine, I love Natalie too and there's another character I want to ask you about...Nat's grandmother, Mona. I LOVE Mona. I think she is sooooo cool! I loved how hip she was with the girls and how she didn't make them call her "Mrs. Green" and was okay with being on a first-name basis with them. Personally, I hate that stuffy attitude from people Mona's age. Down here in the South we have to call them "Mr. Bill" and "Miss Jane," blah, blah. I understand that it's showing a sign of respect, but it also, from a lot of people down here, comes across from them as, "I'm older than you are so I'm so much better than you..." and that mentality REALLY gets on my nerves. That's why I love Mona. She only wanted to love Natalie and help her and be there for her. Like Jo said, grandparents never have an angle, but she was like that with all the girls, I think. She was their friend and she wasn't all uppety. I think it was a shame she was only in 2 episodes.

Anywway, I was just wondering what you thought. Have a great day!

Oh I loved Mona for all the reasons you stated . She reminded me a lot of my grandma; just a lot of fun and definitely not stuffy like other people her age. I loved that Mona got along real well with the girls and Mrs. G. I didn't like the fact that she was only in 2 eps either because I liked seeing grandparents on the show, especially ones as old as my grandma was. Nowadays, "grandmas" are 40-50 years old.
Anyway, you have a great day too!

I loved seeing the full scene between Mona and Edna in "A Death in the Family" on Joost. (I know everybody here hates Joost but I had never gotten to see that episode in its uncut version before I got Joost.) And I just want to say, God bless Charlotte Rae! You know that had to be d*mn hard for her to do, discussing the death of a son with another parent when she had gone through it herself. And Charlotte handled it beautifully, like the professional she is. You could tell at one point she had a really hard time keeping it together, like right before she asks Mona if she'd like to lie down. If I'd been directing that episode, I would have planted a big hard wet one on Charlotte when that scene was over. She was fantastic! And Mona was awesome too. I hate it that she wasn't in more episodes.

My Anti virus program (Norton) keeps blocking me from seeing the Joost player (I found that out on their website when I couldn't get it to work) . But now I have a new virus program so I have to see now if Joost will work; I hope it does; there are eps on there that I haven't seen since FOL was on N@N .

Well good luck, hon! If you can see them on Joost, you're really in for a treat. I wish they'd put ALL the Facts episodes on there but like I said in another post, some is better than none.
