Site Chat Room

I was wondering if their was a chat room on the main site or on the forums section? The Chit Chat section is cool and I love it, catching up with friends. I was just wondering & suggesting an idea of having a chat room input on the site. Not to sound lazy but we wouldn't have to wait for replies and their are a lot of members on here- a lot of insightful, well-mannered, nice people too so I think a lot of us could have really good, fun conversations over a chat room. What do you think? I've seen forums where when you go into the chat room section, since you're signed in (if you are, that is), your member name is posted to the right and if people are idle in the chat, it says for how long.

I've thought about this myself. I've never seen a chat room, and really prefer the boards, but it would be nice to check in every once in a while and see who's chatting!

yeah i agree. i love the chit chat section but talking to people and friends all in one place at the same time would be cool!

Great idea! I'd love to catch up with all my favorite SO members that way! Like you said, its a faster and easier way to talk and respond, without having to wait for their reply.

Random Board?? Oh the Random Posts. Yes, it is for random chat. But I'm talking about a place where you can talk to somebody, and get a response literally 2 seconds after you ask a question or just talk to them. The Chit Chat section, as I noted, is awesome but I would love an implented system like this. TJ?

Chat rooms would be nice especially when reruns of favorite shows are on and we can discuss the episode is in realtime.

I'm not a big fan of chat rooms. I think it would take posts away from the boards. The only way I could see adding a chat room is if we did a question and answer session with a celebrity or something like that.

I think people would still post regularly, I also think people would enjoy talking to each other in the chat room. In addition, you would know how many ppl are in the chat room, but it's your call for sure. Just an idea.
