This is one of three pages on this thread in which I have posted messages about my facination with left-handedness. The other two were "Gimme a Break!" and "Mad About You". The fact that I started these these threads is because all three of these shows have left-handed performers in them. Well, someone recently posted a message on the "Facts of Life" page in regards to the left-handedness of the lady who played Mrs. Garrett! A respondee confirmed that yes she is left-handed and so is the guy who played Andy Moffett. It is very conforting to know that there are other people in the world besides me who are intrigued by left-handedness!

That's interesting. I'm right handed, but my husband is left-handed. I've never really noticed people on sitcoms who are left/right handed, but it's very cool!

As far as I know, there was only one case during the whole sereis in which there was any mention of the character of Pheobe being a lefty. Although there were countless cases in which we saw her functioning left-handed style. From day one, we learned about the premise of Pheobe's mother having commit suicide. However, several seasons into the sereis, we learned the untold story about who her real mother was! This was a women who was also named Pheobe and who lived in a beach house. I forget if this beach community was in New Jersey or New York State or where ever. In any event, the next fall after that episode, we see that gang attempting to cook Thanksgiving Dinner. There was some situation in which Pheobe needed an excuse to leave the room and so she said, "I have to call my mother and ask her a left-handed cooking question"! If anyone would like to read more about my ideas about Lisa Kudrow's existance as a lefty, they can go to the "Mad About You" section of this very site. As a lot of you probably know, Lisa was Ursela the Waitress two years before she was Pheobe the Hippie!
