I liked both but I think Rhoda had more to work w/ as far as new characters. If Phyllis had more of a chance it would have been awesome.

I kind of liked Phyllis better. Rhoda wasn't as good because her mother would get in the way of everything.

Rhodas mother was funny for awhile, but I agree, she really got in the way of the rest of the show.

I love Rhoda and Phyllis, so don't hate for me for my answer. I prefer Rhoda just because I found her character more likeable. Phyllis sometimes got on my nerves...

Rhoda- and no one would have watched 'Phyllis' at all had Mother Dexter moved into Rhoda's apartment building! Ironic that 'Rhoda' rules even in the 'Phyllis' message board!

I probably would need to see Phyllis on MTM first before watching her spinoff. I received two episodes of Phyllis and didn't watch them because I knew nothing about the character like I did with Rhoda. Plus Rhoda was seen in syndication more than Phyllis.

Phyllis was an unlikeable character that they tried to make likeable. That just didn't work.

Rhoda by default. I've seen several Rhoda episodes but have yet to see a Phyllis episode.

Phyllis was just a bad idea as a spin-off. Half the time it seemed like she was guest-starring on her own show. The rest of the cast stole it from her.
