Default If Xander Had Joined "Angel"

How would you have felt about that. I read somewhere that Nicholas Brendon had asked to go over to "Angel" once "Buffy" finished, but they felt he wouldn't fit in. I agree with them, but what do you think?

Do you think Xander would have been one of the few in the alley during the final scene of the final show?

Okay, so, your feelings on Xander joining "Angel" during it's fifth season.

As much as I love Xander, I agree he wouldn't have been that great a fit on Angel.

I also agree, Xander would not have fit in with the Angel series. He never cared for Angel. Not even when Angel was a good guy. He never fully trusted him. He was decent to him for Buffy. And even though they fought side by side for a while, I don't think he would voluntarily team up with Angel - unless he knew it was the end of the world (and the end of the world didn't happen until the series finale). Also, Xander sure wouldn't have worked at Wolfram & Hart. He mocks those suit types. That company goes against everything he stands for. And I don't think there would have been a clever enough way to bring him into Wolfram & Hart. I'm sure the producers/writers would have tried their best, but when it's all said and done, there's only so much you can do with a normal guy. That's what Xander was, a normal guy. Gunn was a normal guy, and you saw what happened to that character during the last season (his Wolfram & Hart story was weak, IMO).

Another reason he wouldn't have fit in - no friends. Who did he know besides Harmony, Angel, And Spike (whom he's always despised). He spent a brief time with Wesley in Sunnydale, but Wes was always with the Slayers, so he and Xander never really knew each other, other than Xander was "the friend" and Wesley was "the Watcher."

And I think Xander would stay with Willow and Buffy forever.

I would like to see Cordelia's reaction to Xander's eye patch, but sadly Cordelia wasn't there in the fifth season. I guess she would have seen him in "You're Welcome" though.

I think Cordelia would have been devastated if she saw Xander with his eye patch. By then, years passed since they last saw each other, and Cordelia really grew as a person (as did Xander). I think their discussion about it would have been a very heartbreakig scene. It also would have been heartbreaking if Xander came to L.A. and once he got there, found out that Cordelia died.
