Hey guys. Has anyone heard anything new about the Gordon Page case? Are his parents still alive and well and searching? I live in Flint, Mi and last year I saw this man who I believed to be Gordon Page. He was heavier than his pics I had seen before he went missing. He was standing at a bus stop, listening to headphones and I noticed his lips were moving. I saw him again, a couple weeks later, and he had on the headphones and his lips were moving and he was kind of squinting. I emailed the unsolved website and I got a generic reply, so I m wondering does anyone have any new news?

There's a phone number at the bottom of who to call if you have any information. I would strongly suggest you call them and tell them you think you may have sighted him and where. Of course you can remain anonymous if you wish.

Did you contact them and let them know you think you saw Gordon?

I'm in Michigan too, south of Flint, though. Please keep on top of this and don't let them ignore Gordon. I'm sure his parents wish they'd never followed the advice of the "experts" who told them to put him in a group home and then leave the state!

Hey, yeah, if you think you saw Gordon, I hope you contacted someone. Yeah, I feel bad for Gordon's parents, they thought they were doing the right thing for him and looked what happened. I do not blame his parents, they were just trying to do what they thought was right. However the so called 'experts' dropped the ball on this one, to say the least. Now granted, this was almost 20 years ago when autism certainly was much less understood than it was now. In fact, I commend the psychiatrist that diagnosed Gordon with Autism around 1989 or so. I mean at that time, Autism would have been the last thing most shrinks would have thought about. However with this group home I was shocked they said his relatives could not visit for two months. I have never heard of such a thing. I mean you could tell his parents were just beyond heartbroken over this and his dad especially, since his dad was the last one to see him. So sad. It honestly would not surprise me if Gordon Page Jr is still alive somewhere. I certainly hope and pray he is and I hope he is reunited with his family.

This is one of my pet cases, I really hope Gordon comes home one day or this case gets resolved.

This was one of the saddest cases to me. I can't imagine the guilt his parents must have felt.

I think Gordon Page is still alive, although he is probably a transient.

I've never seen the segment but read about this case, and as previous posters have said i just find it incredibly sad. Especially how he layed out his favourite baseball cards. A case i would i love to be solved.

Exactly & that very well could have cost him his life. I like to think he is still alive wandering around somewhere & then there's that possibility that eventually something bad happened to him & he is no longer alive.

I also don't believe Gordon is still alive. I just think he somehow would have turned up shortly after the hitchhiking sighting. I think it's a very realistic possibility that he wandered off into some remote area and died of exposure.

IF he is alive, I think he ended up in an institution somewhere and his identity has somehow eluded whoever is taking care of him now.

I just watched this again a couple times. It's easily one of the most heartbreaking segments, just because of how easily it could've been prevented if the public had known more about things like autism in those days and that the poor guy kept getting misdiagnosed. Even in 1991 when he disappeared, I'm pretty sure it was just beginning to become common knowledge, much less when he was growing up!

I just had a few thoughts - if the segment played out exactly like the reenactment when Gordon tried to get in his dad's van, I almost wonder if he might've been unhappy or for all we know, even abused at the grouphome. Just the look on his face was so sad (or at least the guy playing him), as if to say help me.

Also, this might be a minor point, but he's probably more able minded than it came across as (they said he was a high functioning autistic, but the way it was portrayed he seemed maybe medium functioning), meaning there's a bigger chance he could still be alive. His dad said he got that job at the grocery store as a cartboy right after he graduated high school in 1981. Then they cut to the home video where Gordon Sr. is trying to coach him on how to interact with customers...the caption saying he's 23 (around 1986). Could that be a simple oversight no one thought of, or did Gordie actually work there for around 5 years?

It's even more bizarre there's never been any real updates - from what I've read just a few possible sightings and a psychic in San Francisco in '99. If that indeed was him and he survived that long, there's a better chance he could still be alive today and slipped through the cracks of the system. Maybe he kept hitchhiking and ended up in a brand new area without anyone knowing who he is.

Then again, even if he was somewhat impaired when it came to communicating, I don't think he was totally helpless enough to not realize who he or his family was.

Gordon Page was definitely my vote for the saddest UM segment. Back in the late 90's-early 2000's I tended to think he was alive living in a homeless shelter somewhere...but now, with not ONE new sighting of him...I'm really starting to lean towards him being dead. But I doubt there was foul play involved.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the idea that if the circa 1999 sighting of Gordon was indeed him, then he could be still alive (if he survived then almost 10 years on his own, he theoretically may be now too).

Of course I deeply hope this didn't happen...but it is possible he could've been dead on the first night he ran away from the grouphome after the cop saw him. What if he was hit by a car in the darkness or suffered a fall or got lost and succumbed to the elements. Foul play is even possible too, but even without that, there's many ways he could've passed away.

His parents are probably 75ish today (they looked about 55-60 when it was filmed) and I truly hope they find an answer one way or another while they're still alive. His dad especially seemed like such a nice man who wanted the best for him, and horribly regretted his decision to not let Gordon in the van.
