Default Anyone here enjoy doing crosswords?

My ex Donna saves all hers for me, and I do a few a day. I mainly do them when I'm feeling sad or stressed, or unfocused. It seems to calm me down and help me feel better. My counselor suggested finding a hobby that relaxed me, and so far that's all I've found. Crosswords are fun though. Especially when you do good on the New York Times ones, because those ones are hard. Anyway, anyone else do crosswords as a hobby??

I love crosswords as well, but I like the ones in the TV guide section of the paper, because I can answer most of those!

Andrea

PS: My favorite thing is (are?) word finds and I also love that word search in the paper where you have to circle each individual letter and then the rest of the letters make up the answer.

That's the same reason I like the ones in the tv guide section. They make me feel smart. lol!! I don't like the crossword books you buy at the store though. Those ones are usually way too easy.

I like crosswords, too. I play alot of the crossword puzzles on funtrivia.com. And I also like the search a word puzzles and the fill in the word puzzles. I always bring one of those along with me when I know I'm going to have to wait, like at the doctor's or for a flight because I hate just sitting there with nothing to do!!

at one job i had i constantly was doing crosswords all the time to pass the time but after a while of doing numerous puzzles i'd notice a lot of the clues were the same and it got old. i have to be in the mood. at my height of doing them i mail ordered like 24 bks. but never used one. i donated them to an old age home.

Before my older sister passed away, we took turns doing the crossword
puzzle in TV Guide. After her passing, I kept my subscription current
until the magazine changed its format a few years ago. Now I only buy it
occasionally, so I rarely do the puzzle (unless I know I am going to buy it
again the following week). A former co-worker gave me some word-find
puzzle books as a Christmas present a few years back, and I have been
doing those lately, to pass the time. Both types of puzzles are challenging,
each in its own way.

I'm more of a word search/unscramble words fan myself, but to each his own.

I used to do the TV Guide crossword puzzle all the time, and I always finished it, lol. My husband does them when he goes to bed all the time. I send away for the books of puzzles for him. He's mid-level range. That's good you have a hobby, Brad.

I love doing crossword puzzles. But not the Los Angeles Times one that comes in our Sunday paper. Man that sucker is hard. I'd be lucky if I get one word each way.

Only ones that have an entertainment theme. Those are the only ones I'm smart enough to do.

Thanks! I've never had many hobbies, so my counselor suggested picking some up as a way of combatting my constant boredom. So far I've come up with crosswords, and playing basketball, but with Winter coming up, It'll be hard to play basketball, so I'm thinking about joining an adult indoor league. I've always wanted to do that, so it should be fun.

Anyway, I'm with your husband in the mid-level range. I said I enjoyed doing the New York Times ones, but I never said I was good at them.

I used to play Scrabble on my computer, but I lost more games than I won.
The computer was smarter than me!
