I love the Cubs and it's too bad they were swept, but I do like Joe Torre. They always say that managers are to blame if a team doesn't do as well as expected but here's one example of where they are wrong. I mean, when he was with the Yanks, they always went to the playoffs, and this year they didn't. And yet, the Dodgers did.

Posted this on another thread. As probably one of the most die-hard Cub fans on this board, this pretty much sums up my thoughts:

As a life-long Cubs fan....piss on 'em. Really.

If there was ever a Cubs team to win it all....this was the team. To be the best team in the NL for a majority of the season and come into the playoffs looking like a bunch of 12-year-old little leaguers....

...piss on 'em.

I won't ever get to the point where I don't love the Cubs. But for crying out loud, this was ridiculous.

Best of luck to you, Dodgers fans. The Cubs gave you this one on a silver platter. Make the most of it.

[On a side note, if anyone is looking for an overpaid left-fielder, please contact Jim Hendry ASAP.]

This just goes to show that you can never read too much into a regular season record because the playoffs start every team's record is 0-0

I am really happy for Joe Torre, as for the Cubs, what can you say, they just seemed to give up.
