Question for NFL fans without the NFL Sunday Ticket on DIrecTV - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Do you prefer to watch FOX Doubleheaders or CBS Doubleheaders?

We were discussing this the other day and I guess It doesn't matter now because I like CBS or FOX

What Doubleheaders used to be horrible was NBC back in the 90's

Remember that Horrible NBC THEME SONG FOR THE NFL back then??-lol

I know the league has to be fair, but I prefer FOX doubleheaders. I prefer FOX for everything, theri pre-game show, their graphics, their game breaks. CBS needs to step it up a lot of notches of every aspect. They got sh*itty graphics, horrible music, and their game breaks are terrible. And to answer your other question, I do remember when NBC had the AFC coverage, but to me, it wasn't as bad on CBS is now. I remember CBS was the network for NFC games. Couldn't miss it.

I live in an AFC town so I mostly watch CBS.

your not kidding...direct tv knows it too...the price for it has doubled since I first got it back in 98

it was 129 for the season in 98...now its something like 275 or something like that..i forget exactly...but i know it has increased 100%, but it is totally worth it... nothing better than sitting back & watching any game I want too

So damm if I had Directv i would be paying almost $500 for Sports Entertainment with the Sunday Ticket and NBA league pass combined-lol

direct tv is trying to make the best of it while they have it, rumor has it when the contract is up in 2010 or 11 they will not have enough $$$$ to re up the deal

What made CBS great, back in the NFC days (IMHO):

--One of the best-ever NFL studio show title sequences I have ever seen: the wireframe "computer robot" of "The NFL Today," made by CBS Sports graphics designer Bill Feigenbaum. This sequence lasted from 1983-89, and (at least to me) just meant football. I think that it was meant to illustrate that CBS had their eye on the NFL. I also think that it was meant to illustrate (by use of a simulated wireframe studio and a robotic football player) the inner workings of a television sports studio show, especially one that covered football.

--The studio itself (also in its 1980's incarnation): It was a wooden studio that had the "CBS The NFL Today" horizontal title up across the top of the highlight area. That studio design, I thought, was the best of all of the studio designs that "The NFL Today" ever had. The current one with James Brown pales in comparison to the marvelous studio design work of the Musburger era. I think that it was a man by the name of Neil DeLuca who made CBS Sports' studio designs then, and the design that I mentioned was some of his best work, I thought.

--The personalities: trust me, Brent Musburger, Irv Cross, and Jimmy "The Greek," I thought, were light-years better than the people who pass for NFL studio analysts today.

--And, one more thing: I do agree that CBS's gamebreak graphics are the worst today. I don't know quite how to describe how they looked back when I was younger, but I think that I can show you:
