Owing to the recent postings I've had with DallasTexan, I remembered a very informative article about the Patsy Wright case I thought I would post it here. She was the woman who was poisoned by drinking strychnine laced Nyquil.
Forgive me if this was posted before. I did a cursory search but couldn't find it posted anywhere. http://www.dmagazine.com/ME2/Audienc...9FDE2DC5BDCAE4 It's quite long and informative. |

A fascinating account, which oddly enough does not mention the phone call to Patsy's daughter ending with, "Good, I wanted her dead."
Why would the murderer call to ask after Patsy? Surely her death would be in the papers, etc.? Was someone taunting the family, or did the killer hire someone else to make a call to throw things off? It does sound as if at least two of the suspects could have been working together on this. |

Wow, great read, tons of info in here, thanks a million for posting.
Hard to believe that they haven't been able to trace the strychnine to anybody involved in the case. Hey, Cori, what is that business you are talking about about the call to Patsy's daughter? I haven't read it elsewhere and don't remember it from the UM broadcast. Where did you hear about that!? Patsy's ex Cox such comes off as being a low-life in the article. Out of all of the possible suspects mentioned, he seems the most likely. Didn't Patsy's daughter or another relative at one time post on this board? Anyway, while it is a long article, it is well worth reading. |

Wow, the article gave much more info than the UM segment. The ex sounds like an a**hole. I hope this case is solved someday. Maybe nuUM should show this segment again?

Quite a while ago someone had some interesting things to say in one of the other Patsy Wright threads. Their screen name was "corvair" and they seemed to be pretty close to the case. Here is one of their comments:
There are a lot of little details I will not post on this site, but I will share the following details. I know of a man who I know for a fact was seeing Patsy, this fact is probably know to only 3 people in this world, one is dead, one is somewhere, the other is writing this letter. This person worked part time for a local horse ranch where rats were a common problem, he had access to all types of rat poison which has a main ingredient of Strychnine. Patsy did not know that I knew she was seeing this guy and I never said anything to anybody until after her death. I did not know this person well (I can't ever remember his name) and he disappeared soon after Patsy's death. His father did own a local business which closed years ago, I do remember his name and I also know his hometown. P.S. This person also new Lori Williams. |

Does anyone know if they did DNA tests on the two plates and forks/silverware that were found at Patsy's bedside when she was discovered dead? The program never indicated who dined with Patsy the evening of her death, and the last person known to be with the victim is typically the person of first and most interest in any homicide investigation.

I don't think I've ever read anything about DNA testing on the two plates. Patsy was killed in 1987 and I don't think they were doing regular DNA testing as an investigative tool way back then. Seems like it was mid or late 90s before that technique became common.
I read that Patsy's brother in law (the one who climbed through her open window to perform CPR on her) was the only person who saw the 2 plates and that first responders didn't report seeing them at all. Then, more recently, there was a post that included a news report stating that the 2 plates were mentioned by the EMTs and/or police who were called to Patsy's house. There are two conflicting stories on the existence of the plates and I'm not sure which is correct. |

That's a link to a 7 page thread here discussing Patsy's case. It has more info than this thread. I think the article about the EMTs seeing the plates is in there somewhere. |

Seems like the person with those tips should inform the police about the info. they know if they have not already.
