Default NOW FEATURING...MUSIC HATH CHARMS

I love the short native--he is so funny!!!

I think this is one of the funniest episodes. The natives/music thing and the "I am the God of Light!" are great!!!

I was really impressed with the Professor's being able to make such a (pretty) good flute.

I always felt sorry for Ginger during the cave scene--freezing in her evening gown. Ouch!

I admire Lovey for ignoring Thirston's indifference to her musical yearnings and her forging ahead with it all. Pretty independent of her--and the Howells are so close generally.

I love the whole messed up rehearsal scene, too!

Is "Friendly Henry" the radio announcer or an advertizer? Gilligan seems to imply both.

Is anyone OUT THERE???? I was hoping for some responses to my "Matchmaker" questions--can't anybody help me? Also, please add your own comments/questions. If there were a sad icon here, I would use it. OK, just picture that I'm making the same face Maryann does in "Music Hath Charms" when she can't find an instrument to play.

?

The MaryAnn face gives me a better idea of how you're feeling, in truth, lm. Good to hear from you again!! I can't speak for anyone but myself; but right now I am up to my ears in rehearsals, homework, and this additional acting troupe I'm in... I'm suffering from sleep deprivation, severly...

Anyhow, I love the rehearsal scene!! The whole premise for this episode is a little bit lame, but loveable at the same time! Mr. Howell conducting to no one is priceless, I watch it over and over again.

I remeber, one time after watching this episode, my brother and I went outside and tried to play the 'musical saw'. It only worked if you stetched your imagination.

I always found MaryAnn's sadness a tad unreasonable, but on second thought maybe it added something to her character that wasn't there before.

I find that this episode, more than any other, gives me the feeling of being on a remote island in the South Seas. It's probably all of those wonderful stock shots of tropical islands. The fantastic footage of the hoardes of natives racing down that beach and paddling out to sea in their outriggers is lifted from the 1935 film "Mutiny on the Bounty," starring Clark Gable. It was filmed in Tahiti.

The first time I saw this episode I was truly afraid for the castaways. How in the world were they going to get out of this one?

Notice that Gilligan is the only castaway who is never captured by headhunters? He's just too agile and too fast.

All right, I know the island is supposed to be small, but it's not that small! They can't run all the way around in that short time! The island has a mountain range, for heaven's sake. No wonder the Minnow was lost, if that's what the Skipper's sense of direction is like.
