Rock of Love 3 Suspends Production After Fatal Crash - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

VH1 and rock star Bret Michaels have suspended production on the latest edition of "Rock of Love" after two college students were killed by a truck connected to the show.

Yasmin S. Jackson and Kevetta C. Davis, both students at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, were killed last Friday when a truck delivering sound equipment for "Rock of Love Bus" swerved across Interstate 57 in Southern Illinois and plowed into Jackson's SUV.

The truck also hit a pickup truck, severely injuring a Florida couple who were airlifted to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Police say the truck's driver, Dennis Hernandez, fell asleep at the wheel.

He's been charged with driving on a suspended license and several other traffic offenses, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Hernandez worked for 51 Minds Entertainment, the production company behind "Rock of Love Bus," and "is not an associate of Bret Michaels or part of his tour staff," according to VH1 officials.

Michaels had left Illinois earlier last Friday and "was not near the scene of the accident," according to VH1.

"Bus" was scheduled to film tomorrow at the Iron Horse, a club in Hoover, Alabama.

The club's Web site, and Michaels' myspace page, still listed the appearance late yesterday - while VH1 officials said it was "still up in the air."

They were unable to say how long production on "Bus" would remain suspended.

Michaels, meanwhile, has contacted the families of Jackson and Davis to express his condolences, sources told The Post.

VH1 has shot about half of "Rock of Love Bus," scheduled to premiere in 2009.

Did not know about this. My prayers go out to the families of the those two students. I also wish a speedy recovery to the injured florida couple.
