Default An Important message from Me to FOX!

Dear Mr. Kevin Reily,

How are you today? Actually, I can answer that; you are doing really bad! First you took NBC from first to fourth place, and before you were kicked to the curb, you cancelled the brilliant Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip after just one season. When you moved to FOX, you picked up Christopher Lloyd's well written Back to You starring sitcom vets Kelsey Grammar and Patty Heaton to team up with what was them semi-successful 'Til Death.

When Back to You debuted, it averaged approximately 9.6 million viewers; which by the way, was getting better ratings than 3 out of 4 of the NBC Thursday comedies. And for those familiar with your work, we knew this show's fate was decided before its first airing! When Back to You was canned, I gotta say, I was pretty mad! With that anger, I got together with a few members of the sitcomsonline 'back to you' community and started an online campaign to save the show. Now, as you know by now, it may not have gotten the show back on your air, but we did spread our case. I myself even recieved an email from 'Back to You's' Josh Gad thanking me for being a part of the campaign.

Now, lets move onto the fall of 2008...

Over the summer, you began airing reruns of 'Til Death in the sunday night lineup and I'm not gonna lie, I thought it was really good, although, not as good as Back to You! Come the season opener, I read that the show was given a 'revamp'! Not only were Eddie Kay Thomas and Kast Foster laid off and abruptly were kicked off the show, JB Smoove, the annoying recurring role of Eddie was given a permanent spot as Brad Garrett's rediculously ******** sidekick. It was like the gay-er version of Batman and Robin (no offense to this summer's amazing 'Dark Knight').

Three weeks into your fall season, the Back to You replacement, Do Not Disturb starring not-funny man/ Rebecca Romain's biatch Jerry O' Connell and Style Network's Stacy Nash was cancelled. You just know things are going bad for you Mr. Reily when the creator of one out of two of your only comedies apoligizes for how poorly written and acted it was!

Now, word has begun spreading today that both Sarah Connor and Til Death are about to get the axe! I mean, what are you smoking over there? First off, none of the events that have occurred over the past two and a half years or so would've occurred if you had run NBC properly. In fact, who knows? Maybe both Studio 60 and Back to You would've become hits and maybe Til Death wouldn't have become your worse than average sitcom.

All I know is that you, in my eyes, are a failure. And for those of you [members of the community, whether you know me or not], I am sorry. But I needed to let this all out.

Mr. Reily, please take a hike

Signed, Ryan Schwartz

'Til Death is definitely deserving of at least finishing out the season. It's one of my favorite current series in any genre, so I really want it to go on for years. Last night's episodes showed its range and potential. The first episode had hysterically funny scenes, while the second one was an interesting character study. If it does get the axe, I hope it gets picked up and continues to run elsewhere!

Nice letter Ryan.

I'm drafting a similar letter to FOX because they're probably going to cancel Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles.

Would you like to take a look at it and edit it for me? I probably used the F word a bit too much.

FANTASTIC Letter! Honestly, it's greatly written and completely gets the point across - Kevin Reilly kills everything he puts his finger on. I don't understand why anyone would even let him have the job as president of a major network. He's not even qualified to be a burger flipper at McDonald's.

I quit watching ANY Fox television after they killed Wonderfalls between the 6 and 7 o'clock hours. No lie. they advertised that Wonderfalls was going to be on at about 6pm (CST) and then just before 7pm (CST) they advertised a re-broadcast of the premiere episode of The Swan. I called both my local Fox affiliate, and the headquarters in LA, and told them I would no longer be supporting their network in any way. Haven't watched Fox since.

Great letter. Fox has become a notorious station for cancelling shows before their time to the extent that a lot of people won't even bother because all shows that aren't American Idol, House or 24 are going to be treated like crap anyways.

I still haven't forgiven them for Firefly (which they showed completely out of order!!!!) and it looks like they're going to do the same to Terminator. A shame that Joss Whedon has a new show coming in January but I don't trust Fox enough to even bother investing my time in something I know will be pulled in a month because it can't compete with Idol.
