I really like EH, at first I did'nt because of the Rosie thing but,now we all know she has a mind of her own and Joy and Whoopie don't like it I liked Whoopie but, ever scince she's been on the veiw she has been going after EH about her politcs. EH would be great if she had her own show, but if Star Jones can get one( is it still on) EH can get one. Bararbra Walters can also bite the big one, she is really copying Joy and Whoopie views for Palin and MCcain I thought that BW would really be on EH side, it's like a lesbian soap.lol. I now for one if JB is there I will never wacth The View.
* Is Elisabeth Looking for a New 'View'? posted by brenda - Mon, Sep 29, 2008, 2:05 pm PDT celebs: Whoopi Goldberg | Joy Behar | Elisabeth Hasselbeck | Barbara Walters topics: Hotties | Kids Elisabeth Hasselbeck poses with her little girl Grace. Joe Corrigan/GettyImages.com "The View's" Elisabeth Hasselbeck is reportedly "really upset" about the recent political discussions (i.e. the upcoming presidential election) that have been taking place on her daytime gab fest. As the lone Republican on the talk panel -- not to mention the youngest -- she just can't seem to win against her loud, liberal counterparts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg. While tensions are high on set, a "View" staff member told the Chicago Sun-Times that things aren't as bad as they were during the Rosie O'Donnell era. Still, it's bad enough that Barbara Walters has set up a "cooling off" meeting for her ladies. Rumor has it that Elisabeth may even be leaving "The View" to host her own program on the FOX News Channel, where she can be with her own "kind" ... and not have to face off with Joy and Whoopi on a daily basis! That sort of makes me sad. Although I think Hasselbeck often comes across as being out of touch, uninformed, and immature, I must admit that the outspoken 31-year-old makes for some good television! Fortunately, Elisabeth got to take a break from all of her work drama over the weekend with her little girl Grace. (Doesn't the 3-year-old look a lot like her daddy, NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck?) The mother-daughter duo attended a special screening of "Sleeping Beauty" in NYC, celebrating the Disney flick's 50th anniversary. Maybe she's not so bad after all. Would you like to see Elisabeth Hasselbeck leave "The View"? o Yes, I can't stand her! o No, she's the only reason why I tune in. o I couldn't care less. see results without voting |

While I would choose Whoopi, who I've loved since the 80's, if it came down to a "her or me" scenario, it'd be a shame if Elisabeth left. It's good for the show to have opposing viewpoints, and Hasselbeck has always been there to say what she feels and not back down from it. Whether you agree or disagree with her, it's great to have an opposing viewpoint like her to keep the show from just being a bunch of people scratching each others backs and preaching to the same choir.
But then, at the same time, if she wants out because she feels like she's being personally attacked for seeing things differently, then I don't blame her for wanting out because she shouldn't feel personally hurt. |

I don't like Elisabeth's politics, but she's a vital asset to the show, IMO. I believe that they thought that Sherri would be a more out-spoken conservative voice, but that hasn't been the case. It's more about personalities on the show than political views, I think, and if Elisabeth was more vocal about her beliefs, it'd be a different story. But, she's more reserved woman, and the others have to respect that...just as she has to respect that the others don't back down when they have to say something.

I'd like to see Elisabeth move on. It sounds like a better opportunity for her. On The View, it's not a level playing field, and she's a bulleye. She deserves better.

She's a joke thus makes the show remotely enjoyable. I don't want her to leave, in fact, she should be the highest paid host.

While I don't completely agree with EH's politics... I also don't completely agree with Joy or Whoopi's. I think the show would be boring if everyone was pure left-wing liberal on the series. People love to rag on Elisabeth because of her political beliefs, but I think she always comes off respectful towards the other side even if she doesn't agree, as opposed to having a loud mouth like Joy or Rosie. EH always seems like a sweetheart to her guests no matter if they're Republican or Democrat but because she has her views (and she's never hurting anybody), people are so quick to bash her. I think an important factor with The View is that these women should all stand apart and have their own different backgrounds and opinions so every type of woman in the US has a voice on the show, but EH has been ridiculed for years just because she's a registered Republican, even tho she comes off a sweetheart and the least bitchy person on the show.

i don't blame her. i've seen episodes where she was constantly attacked for her different opinions. i can't stand joy & whoopi & i hated rosie on the view. i always thought she was wonderful for standing up for what she believed in, when no one else supported her. but like janice said, she does deserve better. i'd watch her show if she got one.

It's still too late for me to like Elisabeth again. After reading about these stories, I think ABC should seriously think about canceling "The View" someday.

Elisabeth is the only one with any class. The rest come off as overly opinionated cackling hens, while she remains reserved. Temper tantrums. In a dream maybe. She's a lady who remains composed. How she does it, I don't know. Joy is the worst, with that foghorn that passes for a voice. EH is educated, beautiful, smart, married to a football star and two healthy kids and her own show on the horizon. She's got it all. The other hens are walking down the ladder. When does Babs plan on retiring, when she's 90, lol. She lost my respect when she put that nutjob O'Donnell on the show.
Elisabeth's "temper tantrum" on today's show. Four against one. Poor lady couldn't get a word in edgewise against the cackling hens. The only attack I see is against her. Get out of that snake pit, Liz.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0YWaC1d_qM |

If EH left, then the show could truthfully be called "The View", since there would be only one view from that point on.
They've never even attempted to call it "The Views". They assume there's only one view... Barbara Walters'. I understand that Walters has threatened Elizabeth a number of times with dismissal if she didn't start agreeing with the herd (and that's the right word for those women, a "herd"). But jeez, who the hell wants to listen to Whoopi Goldberg complain every election year that blacks are about to lose the right to vote if Republicans are elected? The woman's a lunatic. Yo, Whoopi, it's the Republican party that ENDED slavery!!!! Democrats wanted to keep it going for-EVER! Now, 140+ years later, 95% of blacks are STILL owned... by the Democrat party. Whoopi should try venturing off the plantation now and then... she might like it. EH doesn't need the View. She's also way, way too much of a babe for that show. EH is certainly naive about one thing... everytime I see her, she insists that the women on the View "all love each other"... that's just absurd... the other women on that show can't stand Elizabeth.... they'd kill her right there on stage if they thought they could get away with it. Plus, there's no way five women will ever get together on a TV Stage and love each other for more than about 3 minutes. ESPECIALLY if they don't all have the same views about things. All the show is is just EH and four Oprah wanna-bes |
