Putting aside the black/white question, it's interesting that the 169 episodes should have shown an asian exactly once, at almost the very end: Jack's Tattoo, in the scene where he's examined at the hospital, and the interns, in an impeccably matched mix of sexes and races, cannot stifle the giggles.
At this point we begin to enter the modern world, I guess... |

I have a pretty vived memory of the episode that the last poster wrote about. I remember the Asian medical intern and I cannot think of any other episode in which we saw an Asian. As far as black people are concerned, there were never any blacks who had significant roles. However, there were occasional cases in which we saw black people in the background at parties and other events. Also, there were occasional cases in which there were scenes at stores or restaurants and black people were briefly seen as customers. Now let us take a minute to look at another monority group. During Jack's time working at an Itailian restaurant, there was Philepe who was Mexican American. On various occasions we would see various members of Philepe's family. Before signing off, there is one more thing that I would like to raise. The person who started this thread is from Canada. On various occasions, I have heard about this show being syndicated to Canada and Isrial. Dose anyone out there know of any other countries in which this show has been seen?

According to the official site, TC's been syndicated in 40 countries. I know that Russia, Poland, and Sweden have all aired local remakes. I imagine other countries have done so as well. |
