Lol They are filming a movie at my job! UPDATE! Trailer now online

For the past 2 days, scenes for an upcoming movie are being shot where I work, LaGrange Food Mart. The movie, tentatively titled "Chrome Angels" will be a low budget (obviously) science fiction/action flick with biker chicks, robots, etc. The scenes shot at my store involve the store getting robbed at gunpoint.
I was there yesterday from 8am to 8pm (but not due to the movie) so I got to see a lot of what goes on in prepping for a scene and being part of the "Rolling, quiet......action" background. No I am not in the movie--they had actors portray a cashier and a floor worker who gets shot. It was a novelty at first, but by the time 8pm came around, I was so tired and thought the whole thing was a pain in the ass. I have no idea when the movie will come out, but I'm sure it will be one of those things that premiere on Sci-Fi channel/straight to DVD. When I hear word, I'll let you know. Seeing the store owner getting her head blown off will be worth the price of the DVD! LOL!!!

That's awesome! The new movie Drew Barrymore directed was filmed here this summer. I could have had the chance at being an extra, but unfortunately, I didn't have a potential 10+ hours each day to wait around.

Nooooooooo.......it only pays $20, despite however long it takes for you to be used in a scene.

Once it comes out, I'm sure it'll be cool to know that I was there while it was being filmed. As for now, I can't wait for them to pack up and move on....it's quite a disruption on the job and some customers got aggravated with us.

Some people were wondering why they couldn't get their groceries (esp that allmighty important beer ). I think the management should have done a better job warning people what was going on.

At least I can say I met some movie crew from L.A. and if any of the unknowns become better knowns....I knew them "when"

are there any halfway known people in it? Well, usually those bad Sci-Fi Channel movies do usually have one semi-famous TV personality, or it has Tara Reid in it or something LOL

Low budget or not, it's still pretty exciting. You should reconsider being an extra. Who knows, you could be discovered.

true, you might be famous down the road and this can be used against you

Reminds me of a Paul Newman movie where you can spot a very young Bruce Willis as a juror in the background of a scene, Bruce wasn't anybody when The Verdict was made, but once he became a star, it became a talk show gag to point it out when he was a guest.

no thank you--I worked a 12 hour shift yesterday and this was my one day off.
I have no qualms about being "discovered"

Any really good actors/actresses or actors/actresses we would know? That's cool though, although it has to be annoying, frustrating and disruptive towards your work and for the customers.

Like I said before, this is a low budget flick and the people I encountered were unknowns (well to me at least).

Turns out we did have one semi-famous cast member--it didn't click with me Thursday when I saw her, but after the description today "she was in Clueless"--Stacey Dash!

Here's the movie trailer:
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=50414509

the movie also stars Paul LeMat of "American Graffiti" fame--as the villain.

The scenes of the cashier and the action in the store--I was there for all of that!!

Movie is scheduled for June 6, 2009. Sci Fi Channel.
