Exclamation Report: Robert Plant To Tour With Led Zeppelin!

Led Zeppelin’s reunion tour looks set to hit the road next year after Robert Plant agreed to join the shows- says a report.

The singer had been resisting calls from the other three members- John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Jason Bonham- for a comeback of the classic rock band.

Reports say the other three have already been rehearsing and writing new songs while Plant has been touring his album with Allison Kraus.

It was even claimed that if Robert Plant turned the tour down the members were ready to draught in a famous American rocker to fill the gap.

Now though a source told The Sun: “They were all over the moon when he them the news. They are now forging ahead with tour plans and can’t wait to get on the road.”

Led Zeppelin reunited last December for a one-off charity gig at the O2 Arena which was widely praised by critics.

I guess Plant realizes the reason the album with Alison Krauss did so well was because people were hoping he'll get back with Zep, since he hasn't had a successful album in ages until then

Yeah that's right. So is it official yet or are they just talking about "maybe" doing the tour?

I am absolutely going to this (famous last words, I tell myself now).

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is a 20 minute version of Kashmir.
You can bet your bottom dollar they're playing that one.

Now if only Roger Waters would stop being a stick in the mud and get Pink Floyd back out there I would be really happy.

It's only initial reports, but the rest of the band apparently gave Robert Plant an ultimatum. Either he reform with Led Zep, or they had a famous singer already lined up to tour with them to replace Plant. I guess Plant bit the bullett and reuinited with Zeppelin.

So what is the deal with them do they not get along? I think they are all amazing in their own way.

I was exaggerating about that, but you get the idea- I'm guessing at least 12 minutes. You never know.

I may be wrong, but I don't think they had any severe problems working together. I think it is just a matter of an artist holding out probably for more money or creative reasons.

Let's face it, the 2000's thus far has been the decade of reunitings. For istance, The Police, NKOTB, Stone Temple Pilots, AC/DC, Van Halen with David Lee Roth and the Spice Girls.

I personally think Rick Wright's death was the final straw for no more Pink Floyd.

Well I hope it does happen cause they are my favorite band ever right next to the Beatles. To see them live would be a dream come true. They are freakin legends.

I believe Page and Plant are still very good friends, they did the Honeydrippers project together in the 80's and also did the Page & Plant tours in the 90's. I think Plant is more apprehensive about the name "Led Zeppelin" than anything. Led Zeppelin are so iconic and I think Plant knows that if they're going to tour again, he better put his best game face on to not tarnish the reputation. Whereas if he does another collab with Jimmy Page without the Led Zep moniker, it's not as harshly judged.

I think a lot of vet artists are apprehensive for similar reasons, such as the aforementioned Roger Waters and Pink Floyd. A lot of legendary older groups want to keep the reputation spotless and not turn into The Rolling Stones, who have pissed away a lot of their legacy by turning into a glorified oldies act who perform the same tired warhorses night in and night out 300 times a year while pocketing $150 million a tour. A lot of the Stones' legacy from the 60's and 70's (and even early 80's) has been lost because so many people think of what they've become and not what they once were.
