Default Things You Wished Had Happened In the Finale

I really liked the final episode of "Wings." However, while watching some season seven episodes, I realized something that I wished was worked into the finale. And that's Antonio's love life. He always wanted to have a girlfriend (besides Edna) and it never seemed to work out for him. So among all the other stuff that happened in "Final Approach", I wish that Antonio would have met a woman. Maybe they didn't need to focus on their relationship, but just hint that Antonio will be happy. And not just because he got his ears drained, lol.

Other than that, the final episode was perfect.

Ooh, and maybe someone in the hangar could stop and look at Lowell's cap so he could be remembered in the episode.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Casey and Antonio should have ended up together!!!

I know, I know, the show ended 11 years ago. The cast has moved on. Time to get over it. As Antonio would say, I have come to the inescapable conclusion that I need to get a life.

But still... they should have ended up together!

It was sad to see that Joe's dream of improving Sandpiper Air didn't happen. But at the same time it was really nice to see Helen being able to further pursue her dream of becoming a concert cellist in Vienna. It was bitter sweet to see differences in Joe and Brian's partnership. And it was such a loving and thoughtful thing that Brian took over Sandpiper Air for Joe while he and Helen were overseas.

I loved the whole "Brian taking over Sandpiper" thing. I think it showed how much he'd changed in 8 years. Of course, I always wondered how long it would last. I mean, he's still Brian, hehe! I also liked the idea of Joe leaving the business aside for a year to go with Helen and let her do her thing for once.

I do agree about Antonio finding a girl, although I don't think it necessarily had to be Casey. It would've been nice to see him be happy with someone for once.

I think the only thing I might have liked to have seen was a tie-in to the very first episode--like in the Seinfeld finale when George was wearing the same cardigan.

They should have had Joe walk out to the plane and kiss it, say "I Love You" and say "See you in a year". Of course Lowell couldn't have walked out of the cabin since he was no longer on the show, but I think that would have made a cool ending.

Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't have Joe say goodbye to his plane. They should have had Helen and Joe say goodbye to Roy too.

I liked how they had Fay announce the flight at the very end. It made you think the rest of the gang was still there, going about their business.

I'm definitely an Antonio and Casey shipper. The writers had *perfectly* set up a Niles/Daphne type thing with his hidden adoration. And for whatever reason (perhaps because the series was winding down), they decided against exploring that, despite the fact that the Wings writers were so good at relationship exploration. Sure, the Joe and Helen saga, even Brian and Casey's trysts, but if they had invested (like they sort of did in the Gavin Rutledge ep) the time in the final two seasons, the finale could've featured a great Antonio/Casey sub-plot.

And, c'mon! Take some tv liberties and have Lowell return with "Oh, I'm safe now. That dude Lasko and his entire family were wiped out while vacationing in Barbados by a mother of a hurricane. So I'm back, big boy!" (gives faux punch to Roy's gut).
