Fox has deemed Jeff Foxworthy Fox-worthy.
The net has extended its relationship with the comedian, greenlighting an animated pilot presentation from Foxworthy about a dysfunctional family set in the world of NASCAR. Twentieth Century Fox TV is onboard to produce. Foxworthy already hosts hit gamer "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" for Fox. Untitled animated laffer comes from Foxworthy and "10 Items or Less" exec producers Nancy Hower and John Lehr. Foxworthy, Hower and Lehr will write and exec produce, while Parallel Entertainment's J.P. Williams will also exec produce. Foxworthy will also lend his voice to the presentation, with other voice actors to be determined later. The presentation comes as Fox continues to expand its animation roster, looking for the next generation of hits. Fox is no stranger to blue collar-themed animation skeins, having aired long-running hit "King of the Hill" for 13 seasons. Should "Hill" eventually wind down production, the Foxworthy project could potentially fill that void. Foxworthy has dabbled in animation in the past, having lent his voice to the features "The Fox and the Hound 2" and "Racing Stripes." Beyond "5th Grader," Foxworthy's TV credits include "Blue Collar TV" and "The Jeff Foxworthy Show." The comedian, part of the Blue Collar Comedy troupe, has released six albums and written several books. http://www.variety.com/article/VR111...&cs=1&nid=2565 |

Sounds like an interesting project. If they aired it right after King of the
Hill, that would be a perfect combination. (Just bump Family Guy to 9:30 p.m. and drop American Dad--the unfunniest cartoon I've ever seen (in my opinion).) |
