As the American Idol tour comes to an end, season seven runner-up David Archuleta is feeling bittersweet.
"I'm here in Tulsa for the last day of the tour and it's pretty sad but exciting at the same time. I don't think it's really hit all of us that it's the end of the whole American Idol experience together. It's been an AMAZING year," the singer, 17, wrote Sunday on his MySpace celebrity blog. "I can't wait to see the different directions everyone's careers go now, and I've become a big fan of all the other guys," he says. While on the road, Archuleta became a fan of the fans themselves: "I'll miss seeing all the different shirts and signs for everyone," he writes, adding that the "Dreadheads" – admirers of dreadlocked Jason Castro – "make some of the funniest, most unique things." Calling the tour "one of the greatest times in my life," he reveals the great surprise he received during the final stop: a visit from his grandmother, whom he said was "having such an awesome time." Archuleta, who released his first single, "Crush," in August, is currently working on his upcoming debut album. He says, "Writing is just so much fun." http://www.people.com/people/article...226017,00.html |
