Drool Back Injury Help

I seriously think I have a real bad back injury, or at least something needs to be fixed if it's not as bad as I think it is. I know I have a bad back, my maternal grandmother has always had a real bad back, a long with a couple other family members. It just started acting up again, it's the upper to the middle part of my back that is killing me right now. Could it be from stress? Or maybe I slouch over the computer? Does anybody know any exercises I could do to get rid of the pain. I really don't want to go the doctors about it. What I can see will happen is, I'll tell my Mom and if we go, we'll have to spend a ridiculous amount of money for them just looking at it or making an observation. My mom might not take me to the doctors anyway- I just want to figure out what the cause of the back tightness is. Can somebody help or at least help me figure out what I can do? Thanks.

I have a bad back, too. The only thing I can suggest, is to walk. I find, that light walking works wonders.
And, sweetie, I hope that you feel better and soon.

I have terrible neck and upper back problems. The spasms send me through the roof. I think one of the causes of it was from sitting at the computer for so long. I can't pull marathons at the computer too often anymore. My primary doc used to send me to an orthopedic doc. He would give me trigger point injections right in his office, and they would take all the pain away. Just tiny needles into my upper back and shoulders. I know the misery of upper back pain, and it's pure hell. The injections don't work for me anymore, but they did for years. Insurance paid for it. Otherwise, it can get very expensive.

You might want to think about a chiropractor. I feel your pain.

Aspirin (maybe ibuprofen too)... heating pad... Regular stretches. And, yeah, see a chiropractor about it. They're cheaper than going to the doctor's office, even w/o insurance.

I hear ya there. No back problems yet, but I suffer from really painful neck problems. My neck is fine right now, but I seem to have more neck issues than back issues.

i have back problems, on and off. heating pads really help me. they've got ones that are portable/one time use as well so you can wear those outside. maybe getting a massage will help you out. and seeing a chiropractor would be a good idea.
i hope your back starts to get better! back pain is really annoying. =/

Those Bengay heating patches are fantastic. They stay warm for eight hours. I put them on my neck, shoulder blades, my mid back, even my ribcage when it gets sore.

I use these too...and the Therma-care for my Knee and everywhere else you mentioned they rock and easier and more conveinant than a heating pad...hope you are feeling better soon.
