Question What's the biggest computer 'writing' you ever lost?

Years ago, when I was new to computers, I worked for hours on a spreadsheet. I didn't save it, and lost it. I wanted to cry. My boss didn't even get mad because he felt so bad for me. I've lost a few long PMs and posts on SO, when I hit send and a glitch sends it into the abyss.

Years ago I wrote one of my DVD reviews - I think it was for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. I spent most of that day/night writing, then rewriting, editing, spellchecking, etc., and I wasn't paying attention when I was trying to close the program and save it.
Well, i didn't save it, and the whole review was gone.

So I spent another two hours rewriting the damn thing. Luckily I still remembered most of the story, but I always thoght I missed a few things.

Now I make certain I take my time when I close a program. My memory isn't that good anymore.

I've had many experiences like that. LOL With both graphics I was making and stuff I was writing. It's made me VERY paranoid, so I try my best to make sure it never happens these days. But around a year ago, I had finished a super long blog on Myspace, that had taken me probably a couple hours to write.. and as I hit the post button, Myspace just decided to crap out on me. I went back to the page, but everything I had written was gone. O_O I was FURIOUS. It's actually done that to me a few times.. so now I copy and paste everything into Notepad just incase.

^ Yeah, that happened to me a few times on Myspace. I would write a blog entry and try to post it, and Poof! It was gone. That really sucked if it was an entry I had been working on for a day or two.

It took me a while before I finally smartened up and started writing a draft in Microsoft word first.

i once wrote a three page paper & my computer just froze and i lost it. that was SO frustrating. i've written a couple of messages to people & the site will just freeze and i'll lose the message...and they were some pretty long messages too. so i started to copy & paste everything in case of that happening again.

Happened to me today actually. I was working on this graphic for school, like around a hour in and then the computer was like COREL PHOTO PAINT IS HAVING PROBLEMS IT NEEDS TO SHUT DOWN SORRY.

The computer actually said sorry. O_O;

But yeah I never saved it and it was due that day so I had to quickly make something.. which looks like crap.

whenever i write a long message to post on the internet, i copy and paste it onto notepad until i'm sure it was processed. i've had the internet screw up on me way too many times while trying to post something.

i haven't lost any significantly large files due to not saving, but similar things have happened. sometimes i'll accidently save something worthless over a recording of a song i wrote, which REALLY sucks because it usually takes so many tries to get them perfect and a lot of time to precisely mix multiple tracks together.
