Passing the Torch Moments

In sports, sometimes you about the torch being passed from one great player/team to the next.

But, can you ever recall something on TV- whether it's one show's first year coinciding with another's last- as something you could consider a 'Passing the torch' moment?

I do.

1991-92 was Step By Step's first year and Who's The Boss' last.

I felt that, in a way, the torch of 'most desired young actress on an ABC show' was passed from Alyssa Milano to Angela Watson.

Alyssa in her earlier years on her shows was insanely popular with the young boys.

In SBS's first year, Angie had the same effect (though less publicized), and I thought it was poetic that Alyssa's last year was Angela's first.
