Red face What's Your Level Of fear From Your Child's Confessions?

from 1-10, what would your level of fear be if your child told you these?

"I'm pregnant.(a 16-year old)

"I'm gay."

"I have AIDS."

"I gambled all of my savings away."

I am a drug addict."

I am an alchoholic."

I am faliling all of my classes."

I am a prostiute."

"I am a drug dealer(different from number 5)

It's sad that "I'm gay" is even in the same list as "I'm a drug addict" and "I'm a prostitute."

I agree with safety pin basically...well gambling away all the savings, that would be the kid's savings right, or yours and his?

I agree too. There is nothing wrong with being gay.

Nope. Not even a choice for people that are gay. It's not like they chose to be gay. I have no problem with gay people, they are all the same as the rest of us.

the factor here is fear, not shame. if my kids turned out gay, i would support them all the way, but i'd be afraid for them because of the challenges they would probably have to face in life. being non-hetero can't be easy in the cruel society we live in.

I agree Sarah, that's a valid point. I know that I'll love my kids no matter what, and if they want to be gay, I can accept that, but I will worry about them because this world is hard on anyone who's different, especially homosexuals.

Great POV.

But you have to agree that there must be a correlation between those two factors.

Kleptomaniac is eh, isn't that where you steal other people's things? i would say 5, and 6 if you're the worst of the worst. family heirlooms 6, 6.5

mug people is equivalent to a klepto

broke 7
raped 10

what about, being abused by a classmate
being called a racial slur, the n word etc.
